What I enjoy most about George’s Diner is the great conversation / camaraderie with fellow patrons and employees. For example, on our last visit we had the pleasure of chatting with Charlie, a 98 year old WWII vet that first visited the diner on Sept. 1, 1939, the day he registered for high school. A fixture at George’s, you can usually find Charlie in his corner seat enjoying the diner fare twice a day. It’s always a pleasure chatting with the folks at George’s. As for the food . . . delicious. In fact, my lady says Liz makes the best omelets in town. Service is always great, and the atmosphere is reminiscent of an old school diner. If you are in the Overland area, definitely worth stopping by for great eats and enjoyable, lighthearted conversation.

We had a wonderful breakfast here. It is a down home classic diner. You have to be a bit patient as one person can only do so much at once. But it was very delicious and cozy. I never had a Slinger Plate but I would suggest adding onions and shredded cheese. The French Toast is kind of small so if you usually get two and IHOP then you should order three here.

Happened to be in the area and wanted to try an interesting new place, George’s delivered. Looked sketchy on the outside, inside a blast from the past. Great vibe, everyone was enjoying themselves and so friendly. Window advertised the best burger in St Louis, it was one of the best I’ve had here. Would definitely stop here anytime I’m in the area.

3rd time eating here and I was shocked at the difference. The potatoes are parboiled before they cook them on the grill, but mine were still crunchy and not done. They weren't even browned. Took forever to get them to us, so I am really confused how she managed to undercook them. I think the grill may have been down too low and she didn't realize it? I did notice the eggs were spreading way out when she put them on the grill, so I really do think the grill was not hot enough. That's an honest enough mistake. Only thing that bothered me was she never offered to remake the dish even though she was told immediately the potatoes were not done. When she was told again at checkout that they were undercooked she just simply said that's weird because they are parboiled first. We got the item removed from our bill, but only after asking that it be removed. It's really sad when poor customer service keeps people from going back to local establishments. We need more locally owned shops and restaurants, but maybe this is the reason why there aren't more in the area. Won't be going...

I love this place but someone has to let them know about the new guy! I stopped by today and saw no one in the restaurant except for him so I left. He’s done great with burgers and fries but breakfast, not so much. I almost always order the Sandy Stack. Two of us ordered it about a week ago and received no hash browns. I just ate my breakfast, paid and left. The other guy spoke up and he argued with him saying, because he ordered a side of toast, the hash browns didn’t come with it. The customer said it’s part of the order! He went to checked the menu and then asked, So, do you want the hash browns? Another customer ordered a waffle. I watched it pop up and when he pulled it out, it was burnt on one side. He was about to throw it out but then picked up a knife and scraped the burnt part off. That was all I needed to see. I’m done with breakfast here unless I see one of the ladies working.

10/03/2023 I returned today and breakfast was back to excellent, service was back to great and restaurant was back to full. I love this place. Thank you for...

I've been wanting to try this diner for awhile and am glad that I made it! You park in the back in the building and the entrance door is back there as well.

This diner has limited seating with a full counter area and a couple 2 top tables. Sitting at the counter there are menus and condiments available between seats.

They have a nice menu serving breakfast and lunch. I went specifically for something with gravy and that was a good choice. I ordered the Sandy Stack with a biscuit topped with hashbrowns, sausage and scrambled eggs then covered in gravy. The gravy was sooooo goood!!!! This breakfast was delicious.

Most people there seemed to know each other, definitely a locals hangout. That didn't bother me, I didn't feel out of place. But I wouldn't say I felt "welcome" either... A greeting or smile could take the experience to the next level. Either way, I may be back again anyway - the food...
