Subway — Restaurant in Ovid Township

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Subway in Ovid, and I have to say this 5-star review is only because of Miah. Miah is a breath of fresh air for this place! After new owners, years of neglect, and questionable food, it finally feels like they have hired someone who truly cares about the customer experience and this store. Miah was friendly, attentive, and made my sandwich exactly how I wanted it with what he had. It’s clear that he takes pride in his work, and he keeps a positive attitude even though working there seems like a nightmare.

The amount of times this location has issues since getting new owners is wild. They never have a full menu and are always out of things. Even under all these conditions, Miah radiates positivity so contagious that I left feeling happy and appreciated, even though I was leaving without all my favorite items because they were out again. Would not let us order 30 min before closing. So we went back the next day. No cheese, no extra items that were asked for. We took it back and they told us they would not give us a refund and would not let us talk to a manager or owner. They asked for our original messed up sub back, which we gave them even though that is illegal and definitely not ok during covid 19. For them to add the messed up items. We had to make 3 trips back. At the end they left us hanging in the drive thru wouldn't answer and was snickering in the back. After working at Saint John's subway for years I can tell you what is all wrong with this place. Would love to talk with the owner. Completely understand why Saint John's got all of the Ovid customers, this place is a complete joke filled with low life workers. Don't waste your time. You will be better off taking the 10 min drive to Saint John's for a well made sub by some of the best people and awesome owners! Went to this store for the first time ever. It was clean and staff was friendly. Young lady making our subs was very quiet and hard to hear. Ordered 1 Cali sandwich Turkey style. Suppose to come with Turkey cheese bacon and mashed avacado. Got home to find no avacado on the sandwich. Ordered chicken bacon ranch and had to remind her to put bacon on it. When she wrapped it I had to ask for it to be cut. As she cut it she knocked toppings out and it’s left them out. Instead of putting them back in. I am assuming she is newer. Items that come standard on sandwich should be known and not have to be asked for or forgotten but I understand if she is new. Having been a restaurant manager I understand the struggles of training and getting people up to speed. I am giving 4 star rating due to cleanliness and friendliness and that the food we got was fresh and had good flavor.
