💎 OFFICIAL ADVANCE REVIEW💎 BEANS ARE BREWING STRONG AGAIN IN OWINGS MILLS.
When the doors of the previous resident Starbucks closed sometime ago, residents in the Newtown Owings Mills corridor were left with a vacated need for a gathering spot which offered a strong localized experience for partakers of the coffee bean.
Enter, the Coffee Beanery.
There is a distinctly robust feel of a return to atmosphere inside the store. Patrons will recognize the standard associations of assorted pastries and muffins, branded mugs and ultra niche packages of coffee or tea offerings.
NOW to the main event: the coffee
The owner, Frankie is an avid coffee lover. He also is the head of the neighboring Rita’s Water Ice and Ledo’s Pizza. I received a 16oz dark roast with a light cream blend. Seconds into my sip, the first thing I am aware of is….the water quality. Fresher, cleaner filtering was evident because I could taste the actual water component, not just coffee water. That is fast becoming a rarity in the world of the franchised brewed drink. You can’t make good coffee with bad water and if the Coffee Beanery is staking their claim this high to start with-that’s a great sign. The bean roast was authentic. Drinking this product in a ‘café noir’ fashion would no doubt be pleasurable.
I believe the more discerning pallet of experienced ‘Javaphiles’ and ‘coffee connoisseurs’ will find that even as a franchise, their strategy of delivering small-batch production with detail on ingredients will be noted.
The brand design of the store is to roast their product in-house, creating a higher premium of taste expectation, even for the casual drinker.

Read moreI really like how this place opens at 6AM during the majority of the week. I need my coffee early on weekdays and a lot of places open later, which is not fun for my caffeine brain.
Upon arriving, I was surprised to actually be noticed and welcomed with a salaam by I think nearly all of the front staff and owner (or manager? or both? unsure, but really nice guy). It's not often that a food place acknowledges you unless you're right in front of them. They spoke so kindly and comfortably that I assumed maybe I'd been here before and forgotten, but no, they're just really nice and amiable folks.
I got an L or XL (idr) cafe caramel. It was delicious and warm. I received it very quickly as well. I also got an everything bagel with cream cheese. I liked how it was more soft than crunchy. I know some (including my fam) prefer crunchier bagels, but I'm sure they'd toast it more if you ask. I also liked the reasonable amount of cream cheese. I find that some places, like Dunkin, will just scoop a mass into the middle of your bagel so you have to spread it yourself and then eat through an unnecessary amount of cream cheese or waste it. This was not an unreasonable amount.
They also gave me a freshly baked, warm croissant. Disclaimer: my expertise with croissants goes as far as a costco or a dunkin or a walmart. With my lack of proper croissant knowledge, I greatly enjoyed this flakey buttery roll of joy. 10/10 would absolutely stuff my...
Read moreThis coffee shop is finally open! I came by on the first day of their soft opening. I'm looking forward to trying more specialty drinks they create!
I tried an iced latte and a turkey wrap with apple butter, and stayed for a few hours with my laptop to do some personal work.
Food: The turkey wrap was AMAZING. I hope they never get rid of it. It was a little bit smaller than I expected, but the taste was on point.
Drink: I happened to order when it was a little busy, and I may have received coffee rather than espresso. The flavor was very good though, so it didn't bother me.
Staff / General Atmosphere: There are about three or hour tables with accessible outlets. Usually I wouldn't think to review the staff, but on more than one occasion I heard them playing each other up and encouraging each other on their work for the first day. It made it a wonderful place to sit and do my personal work. They greeted every customer that came in, and were excited to share about the shop. You can tell this isn't the shop's first location, they're well established for a new local shop. If you're a coffee drinker at home, they sell all sorts of delicious smelling whole beans (and...
