Pacific Cafe — Restaurant in Oxnard

Please excuse me for hitting the post button prematurely. I am embarrassed. I ate at the Pacific Cafe and this is how it went. A good friend of mine was with me and recommended the BBQ place next door. It was closed. Pacific Cafe it is (next door over). It was about 10am on a Tuesday, no wait for a table. This being my 1st dining here, I asked the staff for their recommendation. I got a look of, "really." The place specializes in Mexican fare. About three dishes in, she began speaking that drawn-out droll voice. So I asked my friend to pick me a dish. I had the chilaquiles, spicy please. We ordered extra jalapenos, it was our only option for spicy!? Don't take this as crass talk. The place was clean. There are Tv's if you like. Came back 3 days later to try the menudo, and YUM!! My whole family enjoyed what they ordered. The only difference between 3 days ago and now is that there was free refills on the horchata then and now, it was $1.50 for a refill. I will ask before hand next time.

This little place packed a lot of flavor. I absolutely loved my Portobello Chicken Sandwich! I went with my colleagues, and they loved their meals as well. The Horchata was delicious, free refills and was only $2.99! I checked the menu and they have Menudo on Saturdays. I asked if it comes with harmony, and they said yes, it is optional. This was a great experience. The staff were absolutely lovely and our food was filling and delicious. The cafe is cozy and probablt cant accomodate a huge crowd, but it is very clean and well decorated. There is an outside dining area as well, part of the parking lot actually. The menu looks small but is actually a great variety, something for everyone. The entrance to get in is a little tricky. It's in an industrial area so I passed by it w/o noticing at first. If you're just passing thru or getting brunch before a road trip I would highly recommend...
