Tacos El Brother Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Oxnard

Easily one of the BEST taco spots in Ventura County. And that's says a lot considering how many amazing taco spots there are out here. They make their corn tortillas fresh and put so much more meat in your taco than your average taqueria.

I ordered the puffy taco (deep fried handmade tortilla, carnitas, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, crema, and salsa), quesabirria taco, and a carne asade taco. All of them were 10/10. The tacos here remind me of the tacos you get in Mexico, very authentic.

The puffy taco was definitely the star of the show. It's sooo crispy and airy, it's different from dorado tacos. My whole family was in love it, we can't wait to go back for more.

The service here is outstanding! My family and I were greeted with smiles. The staff is so friendly, shout out to Brenda, she is so kind and humble. Very helpful and patient with me as I asked a million questions about all their different tacos lol.

My only critique is that the menu above the registers were a little confusing because they don't include the prices and the hand held menus look different (although the hand held menus do include the prices).

I can't wait to come back, I want to try everything...

So when I went to the restaurant I had parked in front of the restaurant to go in and just do it to go order and while I was in the restaurant the owner of the restaurant came in and said I need to move my car because it's his restaurant and he needs a park in front of his restaurant and I don't have any right to be blocking his way when I was the one at his restaurant giving a money or even though it has no it's just a small parking lot so there's no reason for him to be yellow and be all mad that I was parked in a regular parking spot even tho pick up food from his restaurant and told me that I need to move and then gave me not my whole order didn't even fix the order when I went back in to complain that he had forgotten things in the order and said I have to find my own way to deal with it so...

I'm vegetarian and asked if they could make me a vegetarian torta. They were happy to accommodate...and very carefully went through what I wanted on it. The torta was perfect--exactly what I asked for. And delicious! My daughter (the only vegetarian Mexican who hates beans!) wanted just a rice and cheese burrito. They were super flexible and hospitable. I lived in Mexico for 10 years. This place is very authentic (burritos are Californian, not Mexican!)...caldos, chilaquiles, tortas, fresh-made tortilla chips, real guacamole, Jarritos sodas. Highly recommended.
