Sweet Oaks Bakery — Restaurant in Paintsville

Pricey for this area! Decorated nicely. Nice presentation on bakery items I like the use of fruit on desserts but they don't hold up well must eat quickly or falls apart and gets messy. The sugar cookie with fruit on top was VERY soft, too soft It fell apart but had an okay flavor I liked the icing. I wanted to try the chicken salad but It Is WAY too expensive and I hate when places put fruit etc in it so I didn't get It. Didn't try any drinks either. Considered it but just felt the prices were too high for the sizes so passed. Items I had were EH. Definitely not the best I have had of anything but could've been worse. I thought the packaging was cute.Husband thought someone made the items from home he couldn't tell a professional bakery made anything so that's probably not...

I really wanted to like Sweet Oaks, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. I tried several cookies, a donut, and a brownie, and none of them lived up to expectations.

The cookies were the biggest letdown. They looked appealing and had a rich taste at first bite, but they were underdone, extremely oily, and oddly lacked sweetness. After eating one, I actually felt a little unwell, which made me hesitant to try the rest.

The donut was another miss. Instead of being light, sweet, and indulgent, it tasted more like plain cinnamon bread—dense, bland, and not satisfying as a donut at all.

I can't even begin to explain how much I love this place! The variety of sweets is always top tier. They switch varieties often and keep it fresh! I haven't had anything from there i didn't like.

The staff are always so sweet and inviting. Ordering is always a breeze. Paying is done in a snap, leaving you with a seamless customer experience.

The atmosphere is also nice. Comfortable and cute. They offer a small selection of l locally made things like t-shirts and the like, which is really nice.
