B.B.Q. Patio — Restaurant in Palatine Township

I don't know how people don't love this place. After living in Palatine for 24 years I finally tried this place and it is now one of my favorite places. First whoever said something about it being expensive, you're crazy it's 8 bucks for a whole chicken meal thats a side Cole slaw and 2huge garlic breads. Quality food is always served in my experience. And in the last 4 months I've been there all days and times, even just before close. Our favorites are any of their meals, they are incredible for an unbeatable price. The only complaints I can understand but think are overstated are: a) yes lunch they are busy and drive through can be backed up during lunch. But that's what happens when you make the food fresh, so settle down and call in ahead it's not that hard. B) Bbq Patio is a kinda misleading name, I expected a Bbq joint at first. They do have great ribs and Bbq chicken but that's about it. It is a Greek food place and trust me you can not go wrong with anything they offer gyros, shish kebab, you name it I'll eat it. Oh and the comments about unpleasnt staff I think are unfounded. I'd consider myself a regular now and the guys are great, they are quite but they are friendly and always accommodating to my fiancée's special requests. To summarize this place is top notch food for great price. It is so good that they get backed up for lunch so if you can try...

I had a gyro sandwich plate to go and it is twice as much as I expected. It comes "deconstructed" so the pita does not get soggy. Great idea! And there's enough meat for two gyros. The tzatziki is classic with lots of cucumber and is not runny like some sauces. It's bustling at lunch here and they are hustling to fill orders quickly from inside and a drive-in. I've known Greeks all my life and they (like me) are passionate and can be expressive and loud. So I see how someone might mistake all of this for rudeness. I made a comment about refrigerated baklava (very tasty as well) and both the husband and wife (I'm guessing) at the registers stopped, smiled, laughed and explained that it was a health dept. rule. "Leave it outside for a few minutes, it will be good!" they said. Everyone knows the baklava stays at room temperature in a big pan! I appreciated their comments. This will become a regular lunch stop for me.

PS...I saw another order of a 1/2 bbq chicken come up and it was huge as well. So it appears many of the portions here could feed two!

Ordered a beef sandwich meal. 11 Dollars and change.

Took two bites out of my beef when I noticed the bottom layer of beef was dark dark brown. Way over cooked layered over the sick meat was undercooked beef. Disgusting wouldn’t eat another bite.

Called bbq patio to explain my concern about old bad meat being served and topped w fresh meat as if no one will see or taste anything bad.

Lady was rude from the get. Well I’ve had no complaints today and we sold a bunch. Well here’s your first complaint. She didn’t want to hear anything about it. No remorse no care. Actually acted insulted.

Sorry your food sucks and I wasted 11 bucks and my lunch break now sit here hungry.

All I wanted is for the owner to be responsible for what they serve and obviously their more concerned about their bottom line then getting people sick. Will not...
