Donkey Inn - 923 S Plum Grove Rd., Palatine Il 60067. Lively local tavern serves brunch & dinner With varied menu from creative sandwich wraps to great burgers, beef & vegetable wok dishes to "Italian" fare to name a few. This is sort of tight business location. They have fair parking - I'm guessing...25-30? Spaces are narrow, but manageable. At lunchtime during the week this place rocks, might want to have alternate parking in mind. Service is great until you show up at 12:30 pm with 20 people...they try hard to keep things going, but group of 20 puts alot of pressure on kitchen. Floorplan is slightly divided. Tried to spot max capacity sign & forgot to ask. Guessing this is 75-100 seating.

Staff is great - personable, busy and attentive. Just about all dishes have option of fries, tater-tots, waffle fries or fruit. This is regular stop for our company, lunch & dinner (construction does not run well on EMPTY or no sleep - have to go to office or home for sleep 😴 ). Bar is well stocked and balanced mixes with good selection of beer. Food preparation is good, not sloppy and meats are cooked thoroughly and to order.

All told, Donkey Inn gets top 5 star rating for not only running a tight parking lot, but an equally tight kitchen with a great menu. A sweet, efficient bar and delightful staff. A great asset to the Palatine Community. Worthy stop weekday,...

It was my first time checking out this place. After finishing a climbing session my friend and I wanted to grab a beer and something to eat, he recommended the omelets at Donkey Inn (yes, omelets at a bar...) so we came in around 3pm Sunday. Sat down at the bar and witnessed the bartender demeaning a young lady who worked there because she had to leave and the place was busy... We ordered a couple of draft beers and asked for menus, took her about 10-15 minutes for her to take our orders. When giving the order I asked her for a cup of water when she had a chance, to which she replied "It's kinda busy so you probably won't get any". I'm thinking she joking... No, she never brought water or even followed up. Luckily when the bar back brought out our food I had asked her for water and she willingly brought me some. Seems that if you're not a regular you're probably not going to get good service. The bartender seemed rude and acted tyrannical to her coworker. Food was decent enough, English muffin was...

Whatever the girls name is that is bartending right now is the worst. She has reddish brownish pigtail braids. She is in slow motion. No sense of urgency. We sat there for 10 minutes at the bar, waiting to order beer and get a menu and then ended up leaving after she looked at us and never came over. She’s filling drinks 3/4 of the way and having to waste time going back to finish filling. People still waiting for the drinks they ordered, while she tends to others asking for drinks and food after them and then fills their orders first. Then starts filling the bar ticket orders coming in, while still hasn’t gone back to the orders of those who were still waiting and ordered first. Other patrons smiled and threw up their hands and said they don’t blame us for leaving as we walked out the door and she barely glanced in our direction or acted like she cared at all.
