Drink Nightclub — Restaurant in Palatine Township

Visited this past weekend around 11pm on Saturday night, $10 cover per person which isn’t bad at all. Plenty of parking in the surrounding lot. My best friend and I came alone and it was the first time I had been to Drink since 2016 or so. I was actually pleasantly surprised - we had a really nice time.

The gentleman bartender was friendly, and immediately greeted and served when we walked to the bar. We felt safe inside the bar and while walking in the parking lot. We felt like the bouncers were actually paying attention to what was going on which is super important.

The outdoor patio area was nice and lots of lighting, it gets pretty hot inside so we were going in and out to cool off. I don’t know what the setup outside is in the summer, but I hope they set some more of the tables around.

It was decently busy, not overly crowded or anything. Our only complaint was the main DJ wasn’t that good. It definitely appeals to a certain type of person, but the songs he was playing were like euro club vibes and it was hard to dance to that type of music. We felt like if they can get the main DJ to play some more relevant/newer music (Latin, rap, r&b, house music mixes) - I think this place would have great potential and would bring in a lot more people. We liked the smaller DJ area off to the side a lot better but sometimes his song mixes were slow/awkward to dance to - if both DJs made improvements to their mixes it would make a big difference!

Extremely poor management. They charge $720 for reserving a table with two bottles of wine. Therefore all the cabanas and tables/couches are empty. I recently wanted to celebrate my birthday at this place, so I went there early to get a table. I ordered drinks and food from the poor menu that they had (only 3 options and food was not good) from the bar outside. I was told that I can order a pizza from Moretti's pizza. I was told the Moretti closes at 10pm. When I called them before 9pm they already closed the kitchen. Then I was advised by the bartender at Drink to order pizza from a different place, so I did. When the pizza came (order about $100), the Drink staff did not let me bring the pizza in. We asked to speak with the manager. This guy has a big ego, he did not even want to hear the situation and he banned my entire birthday group from the place. Apparently they only work with Moretti's pizza. They allow you to bring cake from outside but pizza from a different place than Moretti (when Moretti is closed before the advertised time and nothing on the bar menu) is not OK... The manager was rude, totally illogical and has no clue about customer service. Instead of dealing with the people who advised me wrong he chose to ban us from the club. I would not set my foot in that place anyhow. He ruined my birthday celebration for that part of the night. If I can give this place minus 5 stars, I would...Owner be aware...you need to change your staff...

The bouncer should be the face of the place because he is greeting people in and should have a welcoming demeanor, HOWEVER.... That is not the case. He takes his job as a way to condescend others for the most minimal things. There is a proper and less demeaning manner to address the club policies. My group of friends and I came in and he instantly scolded one for his hat and the other for his shorts, then proceeded to me saying my ID was invalid (which was hole punched but not expired until 2023). Now I know there are rules and regulations for nightclub purposes, but he should be more gentle, kind, and human to the people allowing this club to stay functioning. I am extremely disappointed as he continued to taunt me as I questioned the reasoning for his attitude. He called his manager over and the manager was less demeaning than him and also tried to ease the situation but I would like to challenge the manger to do proper customer service training with his employees, as this is 2022 and people should not be treated as this bouncer treated the night clubs customers. Please know I am not upset at the bouncer for reinforcing the policies, I am upset at the condescending, demeaning, taunting, and inhumanity form that the bouncer spoke to Drink Nightclub customers. Please address the way you all will implement quality customer...
