Anna’s Vegan Plate — Restaurant in Palm Bay

I wanted to love this place so much! But the bugs.. We ordered from here recently while visiting family and I had been so excited to try it out. It has fantastic reviews and the woman running it seems so sweet! We got pho and a couple other dishes. We agreed they were pretty good for local vegan Asian food as it’s a rare find in Florida. Some of the food did seem like it had been frozen but that’s not something we mind. The spring rolls were especially good! If they aren’t made in house we’d love to know where they come from. We were served very promptly by a very kind woman who I believe is the owner. While we were eating MANY people who seemed to be regulars excitedly came in to pick up their orders and greet the owner. Everyone seems to love this place and I would completely agree but once we took our food home we found many small almost gnat like bugs (without wings) in our food. Mainly the pho broth but also in the other dishes. I don’t blame the owners, but looking at some older reviews I noticed some other people encountered the same issue. I don’t know if they’re flour bugs that infested the noodles or maybe even just came from one of the places next door. I’m sure they’re doing everything they can about this issue especially given how many amazing reviews I saw and how long it’s been since the other reviews mentioning insects. I don’t know if we were just unlucky or if a couple bugs are the trade off for a good meal. Either way I think its worth giving it a try! Just check your food. We are so excited to have found a vegan restaurant that also has Vietnamese specialties. Although we love Vietnamese food, my husband, a non-vegan, decided to start with the fried spring rolls and try the eggplant parm (he raved about both). After spending nearly a month on a recent trip to Vietnam, we were spoiled by having the best pho at our fingertips. Not only were we not disappointed, but we were thrilled! The pho was filled with vegan chicken, vegetables and a delectable lemongrass infused vegan broth… SO DELISH!!! We definitely ordered much more than we needed as part of our food frenzy, and I also ordered the pad Thai. I am not a big pad Thai aficionado, but I had to order it as well as everything else based upon all of the wonderful reviews I’d read! This pad Thai topped any I’ve ever ordered. The noodles were firm and not all glopped together, and the meal was full of vegetables, vegan chicken and seasoned perfectly. I ended up eating half and taking the rest home. I need to start off by saying I am not vegan whatsoever. Wife wanted some vegan food, so we decided to give this place a shot. I got the spaghetti with garlic bread and my wife got the eggplant parm and the cheesecake. We were absolutely blown away with how delicious and how much food we got. The flavor was outstanding and the meal itself had amazing presentation. I am not a big fan of cheesecake because of how sweet it usually is, but this cheesecake had a very mellow, but flavorful taste and I CRUSHED it!
