Coastal Crab Company — Restaurant in Melbourne

I was having an early Mothers Day dinner with my son (he lives out of town), and I was looking online for a seafood restaurant. I came to Coastal Crab Company’s website and the description and pictures of the food looked so inviting, I wanted to give it a try. However, when we were on our way, my son saw that they were close to closing time at 7 PM. This was a little bit after 6PM. I called and the gentleman I spoke to said that we could order takeout. We really wanted to have a sit down meal so we scrapped that and decided to go to another popular local restaurant down by the river. When we got there, they were completely full and it was an hour wait time. At that point my son said that we can just do takeout and go home and eat. So, I called back Coastal Crab Company and I spoke to young woman who was so friendly. I thought we only had 20 minutes to closing , so she said how far are you? I said we are 20 minutes away and she said to come on. When we got there, we weren’t quite sure of what we wanted to eat. Anyway, we parked and went in. We met this lovely young woman. Her name was Nya💕 I believe. She was awesome. She took our order and we decided to wait outside in the car. Her customer service was impeccable. She explained what was on the menu and she told us, and practically insured that we would love the food. Let me tell you it is some of the best seafood that I’ve had in a long time. It was fresh and well seasoned, and you can tell that they put love into each and everything that they cooked. I had the seafood platter, with grouper and shrimp with the seafood rice in a creole sauce. It was to die for. We also had the seafood stew and the seafood gumbo. Both were excellent. They have my vote! I believe that their food is not only excellent, but the customer service is impeccable. I would go back again and again, thank you for making my early Mother’s Day with my son! Not very big and hard to find. Don't let that stop you from finding it. Look behind an American Legion Post. I had the two best crab cakes of my life and I don't even hope to find a better one. More crab in each bite than a lot of places put in a whole crab cake. My wife had Seafood Creole. Snapper and shrimp over crab rice. I lost count of the times she said mmm good. Great and friendly service too. Sorry we found it at the end of the week. We will go twice next year.

It's three years later and we are finally back! We ate the same things and those things are still phenomenal! Going to go again this week and try something new. Small place, big flavors. You ought to go!

Went back three nights after our three years later experience. Wish we could extend our vacation so we could come back again. If Southern Living magazine knew about this place they would put it on the cover. Small place, big flavors, great service, fresh seafood. Eating here is the best kind of adventure for your taste buds. We will be back!

Back again 11 months later and waiting for the feast. Been looking forward to it since last year. Will have more to say afterwards.

It's afterwards and I've made a decision. Coastal Crab Company is my favorite restaurant, bar none. Every bite made my mouth happy. The last bite was kind of bitter sweet. Not because it was bitter, but because it was the last one till next...

At this point, words can't even suffice for how delicious Coastal Crabs really is but I will try my hardest to explain. Let's start from the beginning. After ordering four $16 small/medium trays of crabs and one $42 sampler that included shrimp, lobster tail, dungeness( mix between snow and blue crab)I believe snow crab, sausage, corn and potatoes, we waited about a hour and a half to receive our food (totally worth it). The family that owns this place is very respectful and prompt with customer service. I appreciate the fact that they show you your food before they give it to you. Honestly, this place is a hit and there is so much potential, they should have locations up and down the coast! Anyway, on our way back to Vero, we ate some of the sampler and let's say I pushed the petal to the metal because we couldn't get home fast enough to dig in. The flavor alone is to die for. Seasoned to perfection and a unique taste that you won't find anywhere else! The flavor leaves a taste on your pallet that you don't want to get rid of. My boyfriend didn't favor the dungeness as much as I did but as a picky eater, he very much enjoyed it all. We will be returning in the future and if you haven't made your way to Coastal Crab Company yet, you really are missing out on one of Florida's best...
