Gettin Crabby — Restaurant in Palm Bay

Came here last night at 8:09pm to meet with a friend. I stood at the door waiting to be seated with zero acknowledgment for 5 mins, still zero acknowledgment. A kid came from the back and stated the steamer was closed down. They close at 9pm. I asked “do you close at 9 or 8”. Several workers standing in the back hanging out. Okay everyone anxious to get home, okay but the zero acknowledgment as I stood there while other customers are looking back at me while the server continues to overlook me. I feel if a business states it closed at 9 just add to the website that you can’t order crabs at 8pm to close. I’ve been here before but during the day with no issues but I felt degraded how I was handled and told “the steamer is down” by a kid from the back but just state in the website that you can’t get crabs at 8pm especially after driving all the way there. I will not be returning and spent over $100 dollars previously with them. I won’t even blame the waitress that continued to let me stand there for 5mins and not acknowledge a seat. Very unprofessional of the business and I’ll definitely not recommend or return. I’ll go get my blue crabs from Coastal Crab 🦀. Yeah it didn’t ruin my night, I just went to Crafty Crabs where the service was well equipped and better vibe. Good Luck...

Absolutely come here if you are thinking about it. My wife and I have been trying the spots along US 1 lately and we finally got to Gettin Crabby and we no longer have to try any other place. The service was beyond wonderful and the food even more so it was so phenomenal. The food was cooked to perfection and was so good and flavorful. They care about what they serve and it shows. Down to the small things as well like the ranch was so good and the wings didn't even need the ranch they shined all on their own. I settled for broccoli as I wasn't in the mood for the other sides after I chose the plantains but let me tell you I am so glad I did. The broccoli was trying to outshine the main and it was close lol. The plantains were juicy amd cooked perfectly, most places they are dry and tough but these were heaven. The main was so good I was upset with myself for not being able to finish (recent diet smaller stomach) it was so good. I can not wait to go back for more they definitely earned repeat...

My spouse and I were accommodated by the complimentary valet right away and stepped right in. The atmosphere is beachshack rustic, but it was comfortable and the waitstaff was prompt. She quickly came back with drinks (my alcoholic drink was poured with an even hand), and, after receiving some support exploring the menu, we started with the grilled oysters. Our waiter checked back with us soon and then our app came right out. My wife had the fried conch dinner and I chose the fried oysters. While the accompanying "boom-boom" sauce was heavy on the Mae Ploy sweet chili sauce base and wasn't the best accompaniment for the seafood, we both really enjoyed our dinners. Our waiter checked in regularly without being intrusive. We'll go back...
