TOP-TIER

Decided to take myself on a solo-date to a nice restaurant on Christmas Eve. I used OpenTable to make a reservation for 1.

Amazing experience and even moreso amazing people! This speakeasy type Sushi bar was comfy cozy with an intimate atmosphere that was reminiscent of my time when I was stationed in Japan.

I got the 12 course meal which was extremely affordable. The sushi is unexplainably exquisite and high quality. If you’ve ever been to Japan, you know that the taste and quality of good food, even from the vending machines. Once you’ve had this sushi, you’ll know it’s the real deal, and you’ll never look at other sushi the same. The sushi isn’t something I can explain in taste. You really have to taste it to experience the sensation. Everything melted like butter in my mouth. Even the rice was top-notch. The overall atmosphere was a mixture of fine dining, but with a speakeasy kind of vibe.

I’m not a drinker, so my bartender offered a lychee ā€œmartiniā€ which was excellent! I even had lychees on the little stick that comes with. They were plump and juicy.

I forgot my bartender and hosts names, but they were amazing as well. Warm and welcoming. My bartender had such an electric and warming personality about her that made me feel so welcomed, as if we were girl friends just catching up on life. Chefs JB and Ricky were welcoming, warm, professional and fun. You couldn’t have asked for a better crew 🄰🄰🄰 I had a wonderful time surrounded by about four coupes seated as well, but enjoyed my time even more when it was just me. I was quite literally was having my own intimate dining experience of freshly made sushi. ā¤ļøā¤ļø

If you’re a solo-diner, or even if you’ve never done it before, you definitely owe it to yourself to experience such an exquisite and unique experience.

Thank you guys so much and Merry Christmas! ā¤ļø It was quite the...

We visited Sushi by Bou a couple weeks ago for our anniversary. We decided to give the omakase experience a try after having an amazing experience at Sunset sushi in Boca. The reservation process was pretty seamless, we picked the 17 course. Upon arrival to PGA National it's a bit tricky to find the location, wish there was a detailed explanation as to where the restaurant is located. We had to ask front desk for guidance. The restaurants AC is out of service so they did have multiple remote units to make the temperature enjoyable. There is no hostess stand , we also made the mistake of standing outside for a while waiting for someone to come out until we decided to just go in. We checked in for our reservation at the bar and were asked to sit at a table and enjoy a drink while we waited for the experience to begin. Once the chefs were ready we were asked to take our seats. The Chefs didn't do any introduction they just started cranking courses which were all outstanding. The quality of the ingredients and fish were there. Eventually they started warming up a bit and interacting with all the guests. Comparing it to Sunset we would say is the same amount of course but you are doing it in 1hr so it does feel a bit rushed as opposed to 2hrs. We understood why they weren't as warm as it is definitely a grind from start to finish while also preparing for the next seating. Another difference from Sunset is that they do experiment more with flavors, texture and the overall presentation of each course, while Sunset is more traditional and based on the quality and taste of the fish. Would we visit again? Yes! Was it worth...

As a huge Sushi by Bou fan, I'm disappointed to give this location 3 stars. I've tried all the other locations nearby and I'm pretty happy with the consistent fresh fish when it comes to the Sushi by Bou name.

Walking in, the host greeted me and seated me at a small table to wait. I was asked if I wanted anything to drink. When it was time to be seated at the sushi counter, my guest and I were offered water. I pointed out that there was a strand of hair on my coaster. He saw it and apologized - then removed it.

When it came to each course, this location took it's time. I mean too much time in between each course. The sushi chef also asked us if we've dined here before and we did. Once he learned that, he started catering more to the guests sitting next to us because it was their first time. He started posing items for pictures for them. To their angle. He let them use the torch to cook. It was complete favoritism for them.

My biggest complaint of this night was how small the sushi pieces were. They were half the size of the pieces we usually get at the other locations. I was pretty surprised at how small these pieces were. I can say I'm usually full after their 12 course but my guest and I were pretty hungry after our meal because they were feeding us half pieces! Definitely not in a rush to return to this location...
