I feel bad leaving 2 stars as management made things right after I had to continue to initiate every contact and never received any back when I was told I would.
Went for the long weekend with family. As florida locals love to go to different resorts that I find on instagram - thatâs problem number 1 they have a great marketing / social media team because we were duped. Every excuse was itâs off season⌠thereâs no true off season in Florida.
We planned to stay in the Serena and lily cottages to have more room, full fridge, etc. I thought it was odd on the website I couldnât find on the map where the cottages were located. We check in the very nice desk girl gave me directions and I was so confused why it wasnât closer to the resort. To use any resort amenities we had to drive back and forth as the shuttle service listed didnât appear to be operating. On top of this, the cottage was filthy, stains on the doors and walls, broken uncomfortable dirty beds (the one beds box spring and mattress were on the floor not held up by the bed frameâŚ), stained towels, dead bugs and living bugs everywhere, hairs and dust galore. Since we arrived later than we planned we decided to go enjoy a nice dinner at the butchers club and give it a night. None of us slept. We were up all night due to how uncomfortable the accommodations were.
Contacted the front desk that morning as we couldnât stay in the cottages for the rest of our stay. The manager wasnât in and the man who answered was standoffish and didnât care and âleft a messageâ for manager to call my cell once in. We drove to the resort pool and never received a call. I went to the desk and found out another family also complained about the cottages. We then were moved to the resort but lost all of the refrigerator items and were not offered any assistance with the move from the cottages to the resort.
The pool bar is great, as well as the lobby bar and the butchers club food and service is what I would expect from an expensive steak house but donât waste your time or money with any of the other dining options. Birdies diner service was horrendous and slow (when there were only 3 tables and 3 servers) and the food was nastier than microwaved meals. Shout out to Kristina at the pool - she is amazing!
After moving to the resort it was much more accommodating but the mattresses are hard as a rock (might want to consider a full update), you can hear everything in the hall way, dirty / dusty and the renovations are literally like putting lip stick on a pig.
I really wanted to utilize the spa but after reading reviews once there I decided not to waste my $.
We ran into multiple billing issues but they were fixed but had to contact management directly via phone. Prior to this we sent an email and got...

When one chooses a high-profile destination like The PGA National Resort in Palm Beach, the expectation is an elevated experience: luxury, precision, and professionalism. Sadly, my stay from November 29 to 30 was a sequence of disappointments and troubling oversights that call into question the resortâs reputation.
Room Cleanliness: Upon entering our room, we were met with an unwelcoming sight. Trash, including a babyâs pacifier, was left on the floorâan immediate indication that the room had not been cleaned properly. For a property of this caliber, such negligence is both unsanitary and unacceptable.
Security Breach: The situation escalated further when, while my wife and I were in bed, a stranger entered our room, claiming the front desk had issued him a key. This lapse in security is egregious and deeply unsettling, raising serious concerns about guest safety and privacy.
Key Access Issues: After leaving our room later, we returned only to find our keys deactivated. This inconvenience, while minor in comparison to other incidents, added to the growing frustration with the resortâs operations.
Housekeeping Shortcomings: On the second day, our room was cleaned but no clean towels were left. When towels were finally replaced after a request, they were haphazardly piled on the bathroom counter rather than properly arranged. Such disregard for detail is disappointing for a resort that advertises itself as a luxury destination.
Billing and Payment Chaos: The most alarming part of our stay came during and after checkout. My folio was incorrect, requiring me to spend an hour at the front desk to resolve the matter. Worse, unauthorized charges repeatedly appeared on my credit card. Fraud alerts were triggered, and my card was locked during the trip.
Upon returning home, the nightmare continued. Despite assurances from the hotel that my card had been removed from their system, additional charges appeared days laterâand even over a week post-stay, my credit card is still being fraudulently charged. Calls to the resort have yielded no resolution, with days passing and no follow-up from management.
Final Thoughts: The PGA National Resort severely underdelivered in almost every aspect of my stay. From cleanliness and security to customer service and billing integrity, the resortâs performance was far below acceptable standards. What should have been a relaxing retreat turned into a source of stress and frustration.
Until significant improvements are made to their operations, I cannot recommend The PGA National Resort to anyone seeking a trouble-free, upscale experience. For now, it is a tarnished gem in Palm Beach that fails to live up to its...
Read moreThank you to the entire Staff of PGA for such an amazing stay. MY husband and I stayed there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From the time we checked in, we met Charlize, she had such a welcoming personality. She provided us with all the Information needed for the stay. She went above and beyond to make sure we were ok with everything. She definitely is a star our eyes. Then we met one of the houseman that was working there floor, he was so nice to us and ask how we are enjoying the stay so far and if we love the room. We were just amazed by the service. Thank you to Tommy at the bar for the amazing drinks and Danielle at the pool for being so kind as a server. We had dinner at Honeybelle and Juan was soooo amazing. Like everyone here smiles. The ambiance with the live music in the lobby is beautiful. We met Ricardo who also was a star at the front desk. He was so polite and very professional, spoke with kindness and care.
On our last day, the experience shifted and went sour. We went by the front desk and spoke to Brianna who was also nice by the way to inquire about our final bill and get a copy. We asked about things that were part of our stay and we did not see on our bill. She then called Ms. Kimberly who automatically had an attitude and not so welcoming at all. Let me just say her personality is the worst for someone who is a front desk supervisor. We explained what we were told regarding our bill and we were not seeing on there. She had no grace while speaking to us and her posture/body language was just showing rude in every way. At one point I even told Brianna if itâs going to be an issue, kindly leave it alone. Kimberly was soooo rude and her face was giving all type of arrogance and standoff ish. My husband and I had to stand our ground and basically let her know we know the industry as well. We asked to speak to a manager because I honestly couldnât believe how it lead to this when we were simply telling her what we were told. We couldnât believe on our last day,This was the negative attitude we were getting. The manager, Alex was sooo nice, welcoming and listened to us and understood. Hospitality is not for everyone. If you cannot be kind and courteous, it isnât for you. And please understand this is a title and learn to treat people with respect, it doesnât matter who it is. That was honestly sooo disappointing. Besides this little hiccup with this supervisor, it was an amazing trip. Thank you everyone else minus Kimberly for all...
