We'd been in the area for over 3 weeks and this place had the best service we'd seen so far!
Wasn't too busy when we arrived and got given a nice booth. I got the double cheese and bacon burger which was really good! It was massive (will get the single next time!) with 2 big juicy nicely cooked patties, plenty of cheese, tomato and lettuce. Served in a really soft fresh bun (which didn't fall apart while I was eating). And it came with a large portion of really good fries.
My wife chose the grilled cheese sandwich, which was simple but in a good way. Lovely greasy bread and plenty of cheese! She chose to get it with the soup but didn't know which flavour to get. The woman serving offered her a small portion of the lemon chicken soup to try while we were waiting for the food to be cooked. Then she came back to check if my wife liked it and to check if she wanted that with her grilled cheese, or the stuffed pepper soup instead. My wife liked the chicken soup, but opted to have the pepper soup with her sandwich (which was amazing, described as deconstructed stuffed pepper and that's exactly what it was!) Then while we were eating the server came to check that she liked the pepper soup, and asked if she wanted any more of the chicken soup instead.
The server was so lovely, and even if the food wasn't good, we still might have gone back. But as the food was as good as the service we will definitely visit again next time we're in the area. (Prices were also very good for the sizes of the portions)
Thank you for making the end of our vacation...
Read moreIf you want great food, decent prices, and large proportions you've come to the perfect place. I've become a regular. At the time of this post, $13 for a double bacon cheeseburger with fries, about a large or the once-fabled super-sized, delivered to your table by some of the friendliest waitresses and waiters I have come to know. Some of my friends and family have had to take their food home because the portions are so large. Some things that stand out are the ham, pancakes, and lemon chicken soup. Just know if that is going to be one of your sides, you are going to get a holiday-type slice. Nice and thick not like most diners that give you thinner cuts. Next are their pancakes. Two large fluffy, hot discs waiting to have all the butter put on and syrup drizzled over them. Finally we have the lemon chicken soup. A comforter for bad, sad, gloomy days, reading a good book, studying, or if you just want to cuddle up with your hubby/wifey and enjoy each other's company.
The staff are kind, fun, loving, and get involved with you, if you get to the level of comfort with them. They are more than just kind but beautiful people as well.
So come on down. Have a seat. Order something to eat. And have an...
Read moreBEWARE. The service here is horrible. The food is only one notch better. Zero management presence.
Food: Fake brown gravy from grocery store packets. My mother's mushroom swiss burger had two pieces of sliced mushrooms out of a can hidden under cheese(yes, we counted). The whole table thought it wasn't what she ordered from lack of mushrooms. Skimping on canned mushrooms? The side salads are made well in advance and wrapped in plastic to ensure that by the time you order it, it's soggy and swimming in water on the plate.
The server: Was clearly annoyed to simply find something to balance our wobbly table to start. She then made an unnecessary comment to our table when we found out that we didn't need to send the burger back, even while apologizing. The most immature server I've ever had by far. That kid has alot of growing up to do. You can't run your mouth whenever you want. If you get the brunette teenager, ask for another server.
Dine at your own risk here, you've been warned.
P.S. I'm a server and my manager would have fired me for talking back to customers that way but, I suppose, that's because I work at a business with higher standards and...
