So, my husband, sister in law, and I went last night (second day open). Had such high hopes for our community to finally offer a nice bar and grill. When we were seated at a booth, the part you sit on is literally plywood. It could use another coat of polyurethane, or something. We'll call it 'rustic'. We were seated at 5:05 PM and got our food at 6:10. As for the meal: The first rolls were burned, but the replacement rolls were really tasty. My sister in law ordered the au jus sandwich with the broccoli. The meat in the sandwich tasted good, there was just not much of it. Mostly bun. Broccoli was COLD. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak. The gravy on the steak was covered in Lawry's Seasoned Salt, or something comparable. (Is that a deal up north? Because I have never heard of that in Texas.) He couldn't scrape it off, or eat it. I ordered the 14 oz (NOT!) BLack Angus Ribeye. I asked for MEDIUM. It was clearly WELL DONE. It was supposed to come with garlic mashed potatoes and veggies. I asked to switch the veggies with fries. It came to the table with the fries and veggies, but no mashed potatoes. Understanding that this was only their 2nd day, we did not send our meals back, but the table in front of us sent theirs back ... twice. The manager came out and had a nice chat with them and they left happy. We did not. As happy as we were for this place to open, our disappointment is far worse. The only saving grace for this place was our waitress, Misty. She was fabulous. She was sweet, professional, and even apologetic. The only reason I give even one star is Misty and her alone. Would love a do-over, but my money will be going to The Texas Rose. I will post photos as soon as I figure out how.
It is also disappointing that NONE of the management has responded to the fact that absolutely none of our food was edible. Or to offer us a do-over to make it right. Shame. On. You. , FireCreek. WORST FOOD AND CUSTOMER...
Read moreHighly Disappointed. We went in today and we decided to order an appetizer. We decided on going with the onion rings even though it was listed under finger foods and not appetizers. Breading did not stay on very well. Next we ordered our food. we had a mushroom swiss burger, a french dip, the fried shrimp plate and the fried catfish platter. The Mushroom swiss burger was good, nothing wrong there. The French dip was good it could of had a bigger serving of the Au jus sauce. The shrimp was cooked very well, but one of the jalapeno hush puppies was undercooked and still doughy. The catfish platter was a huge fillet of catfish. I have never order fried catfish where it came out in such a big piece. The catfish breading was extremely thick, you needed a knife to cut it, and some of it look almost burnt. Catfish was bland had no real flavor to speak of. All of the plates came with fries and none of us really cared for them. Service was sub par. We had four drinks, 1 Coke, 2 DP, and 1 Rootbeer. Upon the first refill the rootbeer turned into a coke and the coke turned into a sweet tea. Now both the coke and the rootbeer were half full when they left the table so we had some funny tasting drinks. The drinks were fixed but as the waitress filled the coke it overflowed out of the glass and all over the flow after she left the drink station. So the coke was placed on the table completely sticky and wet. Our food took a lot longer to come out then I thought it should have. There were people getting their orders and finishing them by the time we got our plates. I always try to support new local businesses, but there is a lot to improve on before I will return. For a burger it's not too bad of a place but for a casual dining I would pass. The menu is full of southern influenced dish's(cajun) like blackened fish and po boys but it lacked any real cajun spice and...
Read moreWe visited at about 2:15 on a Thursday afternoon, so not a really good time to get an accurate gauge on the service. The friendly wait staff earned them a second star, otherwise this would’ve been a one star rating based upon the nasty looking boy(s) running back and forth out of the kitchen with their dirty jeans sagging off their hind ends, doing whatever it was they were doing besides being in the kitchen doing their jobs. The rest I rate as follows:
Pros:
Affordable Price Simple Menu Fast service Portions, though not large, were enough Biscuits were pretty good Fries were amazing for being hand cut
Cons:
Fried catfish was cooked to the point it had the consistency of over cooked chicken breast
Had to ask for tartar sauce (c’mon guys, it’s a fish platter)
They clearly don’t know the difference between a French dip and a Philly cheesesteak
Kitchen staff. No one wants to see your dishwashers (or I hope they weren’t cooks) running back and forth out of the kitchen with their dirty pants sagging off their butts, chasing waitresses around acting like little boys who’ve never seen a pretty girl before. It’s a major disappointment to find this happening at a place I was looking forward to eating at. It reminds me of why every American restaurant that comes to Pampa is a dismal failure; the cess pool of employees they have to pull from. Make better decisions regarding hiring and retention, or do the job yourself, or you’re gonna fail like the rest of them.
I hope this helps. We may give them another try in the distant future, but today our money would’ve been much better...
