The Village Cafe & Ice Cream Shop — Restaurant in Paradise Township

I truly dislike leaving a negative review, but my recent experience makes it necessary. I believe in supporting small-town businesses and those that provide jobs for young people, but there should always be an adult supervisor on site and basic service protocols in place.

Unfortunately, I can’t speak to the quality of the food because I never received my order. After sitting in the dining room for 30 minutes with my child—who had ice cream while we waited for our to-go meal—it became clear the order had never been sent to the kitchen.

The eldest staff member apologized and processed a refund, which I appreciated. However, after such a long wait, it would have been a thoughtful gesture to offer a complimentary meal for my family. I also would have appreciated if the staff member responsible had shown some accountability by explaining the mistake directly, rather than disappearing to the back and instructing another employee to issue a refund (a conversation I overheard in full).

We love this place! The various sandwiches are really packed with food and super tasty. The Reuben is so fat with meat cheese and sauerkraut and really tasty. I think it is the best in the TC area. The club is wonderful as the panini bread is thin and doesn’t overpower the ingredients. The breakfast sandwiches are on full sized bread - sour dough I think although the menu says English muffin. Just stopped today August 3rd @ 5:30 pm. 3 lovely young girls working there went the extra mile to make something they had never made before at my request! Their spirit, enthusiasm, sense of humor and work ethic were fantastic! It made for a great experience for both my husband and I !
