We recently had occasion to stop in at KI, and I will certainly be visiting again.
The restaurant has recently undergone an extensive remodel; a paved driveway was added to allow for ample parking, the interior given a simple and unpretentious updating. There was plenty of seating, and the atmosphere was pleasant.
One of the first things we noticed was that the menu selections seemed to have that little extra something that, by the end of the meal, has us knowing we'll be back to eventually try them all!
My steak was grilled to the exact doneness I asked for, was tender and delicious. The grilled asparagus I ordered as a side was that perfect tender-crisp I enjoy, and the sweet potato waffle fries were tasty and also crisp-yet-tender.
As of this writing, they're still developing a dessert menu, so we're curious to see what they eventually decide on.
KI offeres live entertainment which we're definitely going to return for, including a karaoke night that sounds like a lot of fun.
The waitstaff was friendly, attentive and accommodating, as we made multiple changes to our meals. The bartender waved us a cheery good by as we left, and we both felt the friendly vibe added to our already positive opinion of the restaurant.
UPDATED Sept. 13, 2018: After eating at this restaurant about 4 more times, our opinion of the place has only increased.
We just had one of the better meals I've had in a long time. The rack of ribs was falling-off-the-bone tender, the zucchini/squash medley was cooked probably the best I've ever had in a restaurant, and that's not hyperbole.
The salad my partner had was well prepared; I'm a soup lover, and their loaded potato was probably the best I've had in years.
The presentation and flavorings were creative and excellent.
The service has been consistently great as well; shout out to Jillian, who was above and beyond a great server :)
I have high hopes for KI Bar and Grill--I think they're dedicated to fine dining, and in it for the long haul. Kudos to the management, chef, and...
Read morePoor service, wait time was consistantly behind, all but one time forgot part of our order, brought us our bill without asking for it or saying a word just dropped it on the table while I was waiting to make a drink order; after that I decided to take my bill to the counter to pay and place an order stood there for 6 to 8 minutes while the bartender did something on the computer then made 1 mixed drink. he then walked by me holding one hand towards the "public " presumably looking for an order but never acknowledging I was standing there waving my hand with my bill in it I still waited a bit longer while he helped that person and when he moved on again I returned to my seat to wait out the waitress which took an additional 10 minutes ish and when she came I was not asked if we were finished or if we wanted anything, I was asked if I could pay my bill because she was leaving... I understand if you are almost done with your shift and want to leave and I would have been happy to pay my bill and start a new tab but the way it was handled felt like I was being pushed out the door after poor service..... mind you my orders were draft beers, 3 shots, and a coke; another couple at my table drank draft beer and a mixed drink; and the last couple at our table drank mixed drinks and ordered a couple pizzas so overall we spent a fair amount of money and joined in with the Karaoke never complained so no reason on our end for bad service....... sorry 2$ tip tonight is all I did which is more than I think it was worth. This is my first ever bad review anywhere and even worse I feel horrible about the low tip, I usually give 15-40% depending on service but number one YOU...
Read moreWe've been to K.I. Bar & Grill twice and found it amazing. Love the hanger steak salad. We had such a positive experience, we brought some out of town guests last Saturday night, 6/15. As we entered, no one greeted us or said take a seat. We found a booth and the server wiped it off after we were seated. That should have been a big clue to the rest of the evening. The red wine I ordered was old and the server had no idea what else she had to offer. Single serving bottles choice would have been the information I needed. That would have been fine. Another big clue. I took the white she brought instead. It didn't matter that much since the food order didn't arrive for an hour and a half. By that time we were paying the drink bill and leaving. We asked for the manager and they weren't there. No manager and an over worked staff. A bartender that looked at us as if we were from another planet. We were so embarrassed and disappointed. There was no apology or explanation. I can only guess that someone didn't show for their shift and the manager was sick. We understand it's hard to staff for the summer, but it wasn't even that busy yet. At least let the customer know the situation that food is an hour and a half wait. Then a decision can be made whether to stay or try again some other time. Now, there won't be...
