Beachplace at Holland Park Cafe — Restaurant in Park Township

We were asked if we wanted waffle cones ($0.50 extra) for 6 cones. We said yes and paid $3 extra for those. We were handed the first cone which was not in a waffle cone. The cashier then told us there were no more waffle cones available and then walked away to take care of other customers. How upsetting!! She did not offer a refund or a solution. I asked the man, who was making our cones, if we could at least get a kiddie cone ($2.50 value) to make up for the $3 extra that we had paid for. He said that it was fine and shared the message to his co-worker. She became upset and gave us dirty looks.. as if we had done something wrong!! She was in the wrong for offering something that had run out and then charging us for it and never even offering a solution for it. How rude and unprofessional. Not even an apology but instead she gave us all dirty looks. Giving 2 stars instead of one since the man making the cones was willing to make an extra kiddie cone for us. And yes, I would have given her the trouble of a refund had he...

Love the photos of the building and stand. My Grand Parents had that stand for many years. They closed the previous building, worked out of a trailer while that one was built. And opened that one when it was new. I worked there on the nice days, and went swimming the red flag days. Slept on the beach and dove off the pier.
