Do you like sun, fun, water, boats, music, and people watching? Then let me tell you what! You will probably "like" this place. Do you like good food, good portions, hot food and decent prices? Well then, you may like this place a bit less. We got a couple different items on the menu and were very excited for them (tacos pictured, sorry I wasn't enthusiastic enough to snap photos of all the food after seeing it come out). The 3 tacos and 1/4 cup scoop of rice and beans that I got was 20$, came out cold with so little meat and toppings that I could almost wrap the tacos a full second time. #Embarassing. The cubano (not pictured) came out TINY, fit in the palm of your hand tiny, equally tiny amount of meat, COLD and the bread was hurt the roof of your mouth hard. The shoestring fries were obviously cold, I don't hold that one against them, you can't keep those warm, BUT, they were also saturated in grease and unjoyful to consume. Price for a sandwhich and fries at 16$ is fair, as long as the food is good. Which, again, it was not.
Something to note, they do NOT have a standard hostess stand and waiting list. You stand in line, wait for a host to make their way down the line (every 5-10 minutes or so), ask your name, jot it down, and then you basically continue to stand in queue until you get to the front, ask your name, make sure you're next and seat you. The bar area is first come first serve and seemed to rollover pretty regularly making it a nice spot to saddle up and get a drink while you wait (just make sure you tell the host, otherwise you WILL get skipped, remember the queue). All in all we got 2 drinks, 2 meals, and spend near 80$. Would it have been worth it had the food been DE-LISH? Sure, but alas, it was not. As much fun as the place is, the food turns you away. Go there with friends who want to get apps and drinks and enjoy the atmosphere and your experience will be leaps and bounds better.
tl:dr - atmosphere was great, pretty quick rotation of seating. Terrible food. Service wasn't great, not bad, just...
Read moreI tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt as I’ve been excited to try, but so shocked about my experience here today. We sat ourselves at 2:40 as there wasn’t a hostess stand or any signage. About 15 minutes later we were finally greeted by our waiter who gave us menus and waters. As soon as the waters were sat down, I noticed a long hair on one and went to take it off the cup, imagining it was just stuck to the side. However, as I pulled on it, it was twisted in the ice. When the waiter walked by I asked for a new one due to the hair and he got us a new one. Should've left at this point, but waiting, waiting, waiting. We had already landed on our drinks, appetizer, and meal yet the waiter had walked past multiple times ignoring us then no where to be found. Finally at 3:20 I got the attention of another waitress and asked if our waiter’s shift had ended as we've been seated for 40 minutes without anyone taking our order. Now this waitress, Haley (I believe), was GREAT!!!! She apologized and took over our table while we seen she had her hands full with two large tables. Food came out very fast which was great since we waited so long to be served. My first bite of the nachos had literal PLASTIC on top! At this point, I’m over it and ready to leave but we haven’t even gotten our main course. Our food came which looked delicious, but fell short. I got fish and chips which I couldn’t attempt to finish after pulling out about 4 bones from my first filet. We were there way longer than planned, 2:40-4:30. Overall, the only positive thing about my afternoon was the second waitress who took over our table. Highly recommend they invest in hiring a hostess, establishing better sections for their wait staff, and training...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I decided to get dinner here on a Saturday evening before going to the beach, since this seemed to be one of the only restaurants in the area that accommodated for our food restrictions.
When we arrived, there was a band playing some rock music within 3 feet of where people walk past to get to their tables; the speakers were unnecessarily loud considering the size of the eating area. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, except both my girlfriend and I have sensitive hearing and the hostess sat us 15 feet away from the band, blaring speakers facing right us.
I figured I'd be polite and give that spot a chance. But after quickly realizing that my ears started ringing and my girlfriend and I literally couldn't even hear each other talking, I asked the hostess if we could change to a table further away from the band, preferably not in line with the speakers. After a couple of minutes the hostess moved us to a table 15 feet further back, still in line with the speakers. We still couldn't really hear each other talk, but I didn't want to be rude and ask a second time to switch tables, so we went along with it.
We both ordered a burger (which came with fries, among other things). We both agreed the burger was alright, but definitely not worth $15. And both of us noticed a weird taste with the fries, as if the oil they were fried in was bad or something. Neither of us finished the fries because of it.
Overall the concept of a small restaurant on a dock is neat, but the experience and the food was not worth it. I don't plan...
