Going to break this place down in categories.

Restaurant & Atmosphere - The outside of this place looks deceivingly run down. However when you step inside it's a small but nice clean restaurant. The lighting and the music really give off a nice mood.

Staff - Our waitress was very attentive, and nice. She had no issues explaining a couple of dishes I inquired on. Unfortunately the staff in the back were not too busy at the time, and were talking and being very loud. It was very unprofessional.

Price - Surprisingly not bad. They also have lunch specials that run pretty cheap. You are sure to find something that will fit the bill just fine.

Food - I got the hunan shrimp and my wife got the orange chicken. The portion was kind of small, for both rice and shrimp. Teeny tiny rubbery overcooked shrimp were scattered on my plate and the veg looked and tasted sad. It just wasn't good. However I did try the orange chicken, and it was excellent. I guess it was just bad luck for me. I took a risk, and it didn't pay off for me. My wife however was quite happy, which in turn makes me happy.

Conclusion - 3/5. This place is obviously a hit or miss, and unfortunately the first impressions I got from it were not at all good for my love of shrimp. I wont be returning here. Unless of course the wife would like the chicken again. Also dining in there was nice at first but the staff in the back were just way too loud which in turn is very unprofessional, and rude. Sometimes it got so loud in there that it sounded like we were at a sports bar. The tranquil music being played definitely gets cancelled out from this behavior. I wasn't expecting much out of this place, and I was...

We used to live right down the road from this place and it was wonderful every time! We have since move about 20 minutes away and have occasionally driven over to get food here. Today will be the last time. The last few times we went the food was not as good as it used to be, but this time is the worst, by far. The meals have gotten much smaller, which is alright, but the quality has gone to trash! The chicken is more breading than chicken and very greasy. You can tell they have not changed the oil in their fryers in a long time, as everything tastes old. The crab rangoon was barely filled. The fried rice is simply brown, greasy rice, nothing in it, whatsoever. The highlight of my orange chicken combo was the steamed broccoli, which was steamed perfectly! My husband, who is not a picky eater, even said that this was the worst takeout food he has ever had, and it's pretty hard to mess up sweet and sour chicken. My 2 teenage boys ate most of theirs, but were very unimpressed by them as well. I'm sorry to say that they have permanently...

I ordered chicken and broccoli, but there was barely any chicken. What little there was was white and cooked in some kind of broth, with a ton of broccoli. It would have been great if I were vegetarian. To top it all off, the plastic utensils were standing upright in a cup with no covering. She grabbed them with her bare, nasty hand and expected us to eat with them. She also didn’t give us any napkins, and when we went back in to ask, she only gave us two—just one for each of us.

Update: 6/24/25 I went again because I forgot about this review. I came to write a review today and found this one from a year ago.

Got the house fried rice that was suppose to have 3 different meats 😂. What a joke. I ordered a large and probably had 3 shrimp, 6 slivers of chicken, and tiny diced ham.

BEWARE!!!!! YOU'VE...

This is my first time getting food here. We ordered carryout. The woman who took my order was very nice and when I went to pick up my order she was very informative and engaging. When I first opened the container of garlic chicken I thought it looked a little pale and I was already worried on how it would taste. The portions were large, but everything was bland. My wife did not enjoy her meal either as she said it was also bland. I did also get a small container of wonton soup and it was no different from the rest of the meal, bland.... I would like to say I'll come back and try it again because of the service and large portions but it may be a while before I do so. Edit 9-16-22 We've eaten here 2 to 3 times since the original review, always dine in. Food portions are very good and the taste is excellent.

Ignore the nonsense negative reviews. (No sauce and its dry? Drove 30 mins home and it's not hot? Really?) I lived in Parma for 4 years and the ONLY restaurant I could depend on for consistency 100% of the time, big chain or local, was Mandarin House. The food was always incredible, no matter what we got. The friendly women who work here go above and beyond to make sure you're satisfied and we always were. I live a 7 hour drive away now and there are STILL nights I wish I could run up the street and get more of the best chicken fried rice I've ever had. Out of every similar place in Parma, this is the one. Order your favorite combo, get it when they say it's ready (10 mins means 10 mins!!) And enjoy the best comfort food of your week. Thank you Mandarin House for 4 years of incredible food.

I called and ordered pick up. The woman was pleasant. Food was ready fairly quickly (15 minutes). I opened up the food to look at it in the car…. Very disappointing. The rice is chopped up and fried with no vegetables no pork. Just rice. Egg rope looked ok…. It is all cabbage. Nothing else. No seasoning no vegetables nothing but cabbage. The sweet and sour sauce tastes a little like bad wine. Overall the food was terrible. I haven’t a clue how they have over 4 star rating.
