With 4.5 rating and several suggestions from the locals, I had to try out Southside Diner on Pleasant Valley, in Parma. I wish I could give you more than 5 stars because it was simply just that! A small diner that you would normally pass without really looking for it. Very quaint, relaxed feeling. Staff was courteous and personable. Sarah, my waitress, was great! Service with enthusiasm and a smile. She knew the menu well and was quick to fill up my coffee everytime. She also left me alone to enjoy my meal----the place was slammed with hungry customers... I then realized that America has this great fascination with diners and the country truly runs on diners...I'm all in.
Sarah suggested a few of the diner's top choices depending on how hungry I was (I was a little hungry). She suggested the Breakfast tacos (2) which comes with a potato/onion home fries/hash on a separate plate. It was prepared well, and presented with colorful ingredients. Soft taco shell, chorizo, grilled pineapple (interesting!), red onions, chipotle sauce, scrambled eggs, paper Jack cheese, and cilantro. The 'heat' was the perfect amount and blended well with the rest of the ingredients. It was different from your typical breakfast food so I went with it and it tasted so delicious AND otherworldly, I wished it came with 3 tacos! BUT I realized that the potatoes filled my stomach eventually. The amount you get was ok for the price, although I would have paid slightly more with a 3rd taco option. I would highly recommend this place to everyone! Definitely would come back again. AND don't ever forget to tip your waiter/waitress well when they worked so hard to serve you well!...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered take out. But as I got there I decided to dine in since it was āemptyā. The lady was friendly. The reason for low star itās not worth the price for the little portion they give and quality wasnāt that great. I wasnāt asked how my food was till āafterā she processed my payment but absolutely asked the white lady beside me how was her food within 1 minute of her receiving it. Iām a great tipper Iāve been in the service industry my entire life however to feel left out and discriminated because Iām not one of them or white is not a great feeling. I havenāt felt this unwanted in SO long. Sheās very lucky I even left $1 tip. I feel like I left $1 for allowing me to eat there. Anyways, no I donāt want to go to management because the owner or management of some kind (I only know this because the cook came up to him and told him what they were out of šš¤) was sitting right next to me and gave zero attention to how I was treated therefore a review is what they will get. Itās in Gods hands now. God will handle people accordingly. Iām at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited the South Side Diner, and while itās a small place, donāt let that fool youāit has ample parking and a charming, old-school mom-and-pop vibe. From the moment I walked in, the servers were incredibly friendly, quick, and attentive. My coffee cup was always full, which was a nice touch.
I ordered the Philly Omelette with toast and potatoes. I customized my omelette by adding bacon, swapping provolone for cheddar, and adding steak. The eggs were fluffy, and the omelette was perfectly sized. The toast was crispy, buttered just right, and absolutely delicious. Iām not usually a fan of potatoes, but I decided to give theirs a tryāand they were hands down the best homemade potatoes Iāve ever had, cooked to perfection and full of flavor.
The seats could use some fixing, make it more presentable.
If Iām ever in the area again, Iāll...
