Always wondered about this place so finally gave them a try for a midweek takeout order. Nice big parking lot and from the outside, it looked bigger and nicer than we expected. Inside was very clean and casual with some fun seafood character. They have a lot of tables and don't appear to offer table service (everyone was going to the order window to get their own food). We ordered in person and the food was ready in about 15 minutes. Staff were not particularly friendly but efficient and answered questions (ex. no substitutions for fries on "fish and chips"). Prices are kind of high, but all food is expensive right now. Frustrating their menu prices are not available online so I took some pictures. $6.50 got us about 10 little small hush puppies (tasty) and the $12.50 "fish and chips" got a small little cardboard boat of about 30 fries (normal, not crisp) and 3 large pieces of fresh haddock (great tasting fish but not deep fried nor crisp/crunchy). Platters were probably the best value as came with large seafood pieces and good helpings of nice sides (one couple could reasonable spit a platter for a moderate sized meal). They have a TON of variety and options here, not to mention some tasty cakes and reasonable beer options. Putting price aside as that is a value judgement, we all thought the seafood itself was fresh and tasty. Our takeout packaging was bare bones and did not come with any napkins or condiments (no malt vinegar, no ketchup) or utensils. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and appreciate having this as another local option for a fun seafood outing.

I've been coming here for the last 36+ years (I'm 40) & they always have the best seafood. Where they lack in seasonings, sauces & unique dishes, they make up for it by cooking the food perfectly & keep things very simple. This place has some of the freshest seafood you'll find anywhere & you won't pay an arm & a leg that you might at say Joe's Shack or Woody's Seafood. My grandparents owned a bar in Pasadena 30 years ago called Chet's Place & they sourced all their seafood from here as well because it's just the best around. I love the decor & it hasn't changed since I was a kid since you can still find long rows of picnic tables inside which I feel kind of encourages people to be more social with each other & quite a few tables outside with a nautical theme of sorts you'd expect from any nice seafood restaurant. Overall, if you're empresses by fancy dishes, how things look on the plate or like the "fancy" seafood restaurants than this place isn't for you, but if you're only about how great the food is & love a laid back environment, then make sure to grab yourself a cold beer, a couple dozen crabs & make some new friends with the people sitting next to you. I can promise you'll have a great time.

LISTEN UP when I first came to this restaurant about a week and a half ago I didn't know how OBSESSED I'd be with this place. The amount of food you get is amazing and cost efficient, they also have SOOOOO MUCH to choose from! In one part of this place is basically the steaming station/raw bar and where you can get your brewskis. Since my first visit I have been back four times within this past week. The staff was SO KIND and helpful, made it such a good experience! They didn't mind that it took me a minute to figure out what I wanted, they served with a smile, and they answered any questions I had. OKAY STAY WITH ME NOW they also on the other side have where you can get full trays of crab, sandwiches, crab salads, and so many sides. You can dine in or carry out which is AMAZING and the food is still great either way! They have an array of sauces such as hot sauce, tartar sauce, Worcestershire sauce, old bay seasoning, lemons, crackers, utensils, crab cracking mallets, and paper to rip and put on your table for easy clean up. I love love love this place. CHECK IT OUT!

Anne Arundel Seafood has definitely went downhill and is nothing like it was years ago. The food is mediocre at best and overpriced for what you get. Crabcakes were small and more filler than crabmeat, honestly the worst I've ever had. The Fried Oysters were mostly breading and flavorless. The potato salad was bland and the macaroni salad was just okay. The desserts were good but overpriced for such a small slice of cake. Ordering can be confusing as there are two separate areas separate areas whether you are getting cooked, steamed or raw. The teenage cashier wasn't pleasant and very rushy, my family & I were standing a ways back from the counter leaving plenty of room for anyone who came in and was ready to order to go ahead of us. It was very clear that we were looking at the menu and we were showing my MIL the paper menu yet the boy behind the counter kept asking if we were ready every 15 seconds. When our order was called I went up to the counter and I had my hand on the counter with my bank card clearly visible while waiting for my total and the same teenage boy that took our order said in a rude tone "You know you still have to pay". The tables are very close together and if you sit at the tables with actual chairs the people at the table behind you are pretty much on top of you, leaving no room for you push your chair out a bit in order to stand up. One of the workers was asked to turn the ceiling fan off by the people at table behind us and he stood on table top to do so and when he got down didn't even have the courtesy to clean and wipe down or even offer to clean where he just had his dirty shoes. Our dining experience was a huge disappointment and needless to say we won't be returning or recommending. If you want good seafood and service this...

They used to be so much better, and for a place in Maryland—a state that prides itself on Chesapeake Bay crabs and top-tier seafood—that’s a tough pill to swallow. I’ve been coming here for thirty years, and back then, it felt like they embodied everything Maryland is known for when it comes to seafood. Now? It’s hit-or-miss.

I got the steamed shrimp recently, and while they were decent, sometimes they’re just mushy, like they’ve lost that fresh, straight-from-the-Bay quality. That inconsistency stings, especially in a place that’s supposed to set the standard.

The vibe on the to-go side doesn’t help. The older staff seem worn out, like they’ve been here as long as the Bay itself. Maybe they’ve been at it too long, and it’s taken the joy out of it. On the dine-in side, though, the younger staff are brighter, friendlier—it feels lighter over there, like they still believe in the Maryland seafood legacy.

That said, there are still flashes of greatness. Their crab fluff is everything you’d hope for from a place with Chesapeake roots—rich, indulgent, and perfectly balanced. And when the steamed crabs are good, they’re phenomenal, the kind of crabs that remind you why Maryland has such a reputation. But then there are the off days, where the crabs just don’t deliver, and it’s like the pride of the Bay didn’t make it to the plate.

It’s heartbreaking for a Marylander. We’re supposed to hold our own when it comes to seafood. I used to rave about this place—a solid 10 out of 10, or at least an 8 on a bad day. Now, I can’t say that anymore. The magic of Maryland’s Chesapeake heritage feels like it’s slipping through their fingers, and that’s...

I am from Atlanta and I am very proud of my southern roots and very proud of our southern cuisine and culture. The way Atlantans fry fish-it has to be hot and it has to be crunchy crispy! Well I have been in Baltimore since 2016 and I can tell you now that I have not found a restaurant, a quick stop, a hip hop, or NOTHING that has come as close to a good home backyard fish fry like this place! I ordered fried Haddock and the jumbo shrimp with coleslaw (southerners don’t eat everybody’s coleslaw) and fries. Wow! I am telling you that this was the best fried fish I’ve had since I left Atlanta. It was Awesome!!! I could not put it down nor did I slow down enough to take a sip of anything-next time I’ll order a cold beer. The coleslaw was sweet with crisp cabbage and the temp was cold as coleslaw should be. I have never seen jumbo shrimp the way AAS cooks it…man! You can have the shrimp alone and be very satisfied. The fries were.. eh. Typical for fries everywhere, so I wasn’t looking to be impressed in this category. But that Haddock was a winner- fresh not fishy, piping hot, crispy and crunchy, meaty- I mean a good meaty, white fish. Tartar sauce was creamy and the hot sauce just right. I will definitely dine here again! And again! My only concern is that the picnic tables should be wiped down consistently, especially serving seafood. I didn’t see a large waitstaff or maybe have sanitizing solution readily available to wipe down tables-maybe they do but I didn’t see any. The price was a little high for this type of establishment, meaning it’s not a 5-star restaurant but the quality of food...
