Horrible customer service. My husband called to order. The Lady on the phone started talking to someone in the background didn't tell my husband to hold on. Then asking my husband to repeat himself. My husband is a clam, shy person. So he repeated himself again. We ordered a quite a few pupusas. Which she stated that we had to pay ahead of time, which is fine. My husband gave her the numbers on the card and out of no where started talking to someone in the background. After he gave her all the information. She states, "It's wrong you gave me the wrong number." My husband repeats everything once again and she does the same thing and talks to someone else and guess what? The number is wrong again. My husband says, "It's okay we are going to order online instead to make it easier." The lady didn't even say anything and hangs up on him. My husband and I placed the order online. When I arrive to the store I told her my name to pick up the order. The Lady: "Who was that man that called and tried placing the order on the phone?" I told her,"Oh, my husband." The Lady: "Why didn't he tell me to cancel the order?" I replied, "You were talking to like three other people while on the phone." The Lady: "Tell him to not do that again. He is so disrespectful. I gave someone a pupusa and i didn't know they didn't even pay. I was helping him and I was taking the order. He called." I replied, " I'm sorry, but my husband even told you it's okay. We will place the order online instead... You even hung up on him." The Lady: " He should've called back and told us to cancel the order. You're lucky I looked at the orders. If we made two I would charge you again." I replied, "I'm sorry, but you hung up on him. Im not understanding." The Lady: "Tell him not to do that again! I'll charge you next time." I replied," Yeah, Next time." *i was so annoyed that I just grabbed my food and left. We spend at least $50 everything we order. This WAS our go to place. She can come off rude from time to time, but this is beyond over the top. She hung up on my husband after he told her we will try to order online. She could've told my husband to hold on or wait while helping another person, but she kept telling him to...

After all these years Mely's Restaurant is still amazing!

I have been coming here for years now and I am always happy and satisfied with the food and service.

Yes this place is very small inside but they do a great job serving everyone that comes in. They also do take out if it's a full house and you don't want to wait around.

A couple years back they gave this place a little facelift. They added some new paint colors, menus on 3 flatscreen Televisions, photos/artwork, and new seating. All that gave this place a nice Spanish feel, very welcoming.

Every time I come into dine I always order the same thing (creature of habit)

It's a family own restaurant and the food is very authentic. Meals are always made to order, they are served nice and hot off the grill. The drinks are always cold and refreshing.

*Parking is very limited in the back of the restaurant or you can find street parking

Mely's Pupuseria & Restaurant is a small cafe on the west side of Lake serving traditional El Salvadoran dishes and classic Mexican food.

The women who run the restaurant are super helpful and friendly. Asking for advice about the menu and customer favorites is encouraging here.

Pupusas are very popular here. Order homemade El Salvadoran stews, grilled meat platters, seafood, chicken or beef foot soup. Colorful pictures will help guide your choices.

With help from a recommendation, I ordered the beef taco plate which is a great bargain. $10.

I took a seat on the patio and my food was delivered fast. The steak is lean, well seasoned and caramelized from the grill. This dish is served with rice, salad, creamy red beans, salsa and lemon.

Try an exotic fruit juice like passion fruit (my favorite) or mixed fruit juice.
