They got a 2 because only 2 of the 4 meats I tried were any good. The turkey was flavorful and somewhat juicy and the sausage was ok. The ribs came off the bone but were stiff and chewy with no flavor unless you dip it in the bbq sauce. The brisket was dry and no flavor. The portion I got for the price I paid was to high. I will try to post pics. I got 4 tiny pieces of brisket that would add up to 1 slice at other places. The turkey was just a little more. The sausage was ok and 2 decent size ribs but not great quality. Honestly it tasted like it had been reheated after sitting out all day the day before. I'll stick with my other bbq places for now on. The cheese potatoes were good and the sweet potatoes need some brown sugar or something. Just dumped right out of the can and warmed up. My bread was to hard to try. Sorry but no thank you. Oh and a LG tea was over $4 but gave it to me for $3.50.

As a trucker that comes into Houston every week this little restaurant deserves the biggest praise. So you walk in and it is kinda like school grab your tray, the gentleman will ask you what you would like and trust me it is all mouth watering. He will make you smile and laugh while he is preparing the meats that again are beyond amazing. Then we get to the lady that will get you your sides ( DO THE BAKED POTATO), this lady is as equally going to make you smile and her humor is as warm as her smile. I have had the pleasure of eating here several times and again OMG I might leave the Houston area with a tear in my eye if I didn’t get a chance to stop in here. There is nothing at all but the highest praise for both the staff and the food.

I had dinner at No Name Bar-B-Q recently, and while it wasn't a bad experience, it also wasn't particularly memorable. I was hoping for some standout barbecue, but the food was just average. I tried the ribs and brisket. The ribs were cooked properly—they weren't tough—but they didn't have the deep, smoky flavor I look for. The brisket was a similar story. The meat was tender enough, but it lacked a real spice rub or a flavorful crust, known as the bark, that makes a great brisket. Overall, it was an okay meal, but if you're a serious barbecue fan, you might not find what you're looking for here.

What's happened?! Usually this place is great. But.. the past three times in three weeks, the food has been sadly disappointing. The ribs are overcooked, dried out, hard. Not just once but on two different visits. Today the brisket was bootstrap leather tough, for the very first time, as it's usually always perfect, tender, melty, need to eat with a spoon kinda meat 😉. Also, their baked beans usually have small meat bits mixed in, today.. just beans, like right out of the can..? Sauce is great, and is always great. I'm sorry the meats haven't been good recently. If I lived closer, I'm about 40 miles- that's how good it is, or was..., I'd be in there demanding some refund. I really hope they get it back to right soon, because they are quickly slipping from the long standing#1 best bbq...

Great BBQ! Too bad it's impolite to pick up the plate and lick it.

EDIT: Amazing what difference a new owner makes. Sauce has been changed and no longer has its distinctive taste. New owner also tried to tell another customer it had not changed, and was kind of rude about it. Meat is still good, but didn't have the smoky taste from before. No Name BBQ has gone from a place I would take an out of town guest to a "meh, OK I guess" place. My visit was in the evening, so will give them another chance for lunch.

EDIT 2: Sauce is back to normal, and many of the old hands have stayed on after the sale to the new owner. Have bumped the rating up by a star, since the new owner is now listening to his customers instead of just denying that he changed anything, even though the change...
