Very rude. They all seemed very annoyed to have us there. We asked for a side of the sauce they make their hot wings with for the chicken strips (that tasted like cardboard) & the clerk just rudely pointed to a bottle of Tapatio sitting on the other counter. We got there at 8:05 pm. We were all in a good mood, quite, polite & stayed to ourselves in an empty restaurant, in the corner, out of sight. Our food came out a little after 8:30.
While finishing or meal, 5 minutes after 9:00 (they close at 9:00) they came & locked the door we were sitting next to and told us "we are closed" then turned off some of the lights. When we went to go wash our hands after pretty much being told to stop eating, we go to a blocked off bathroom with a "bathroom closed" sign.
We got several eye rolls at us though out the visit like when we asked for the Diet Coke we ordered 15 minutes before, when we told the server that he gave the wrong person the wrong thing, then when asking for boxes for our stuff we didn't get to finish after they kicked us out.
About 5 minutes after they kicked us out, while we were finishing our conversation with the friends went to dinner with (since we had to cut it short in the restaurant) we saw one of the rude employees talking to someone very causal, both leaning on a truck parked across the front of the restaurant, about 5 yards away from us, the entire time we had & finished our conversation.
Some food we had tonight was pretty good & some was the worst I've ever had. If you want to take your chances ONLY DO TO GO, if that. The prices ARE dine in so I highly DO NOT recommend going or...
Read moreI just had a really satisfying hot pastrami sandwich aka Pastrami Alla Pietros on my first visit to Pietro's Italian Restaurant. The sandwich is made on a really excellent quality sesame seed hoagie roll with mustard, pickles and melted cheese on tender juicy pastrami. The large sandwich is nearly a foot long. I had intended to eat half and save the rest for later but it was so tasty that I ended up eating the whole thing.
I'm on a mission to try all the pastrami sandwiches in town and so far this one gets a good ranking. This sandwich wins for best bread. It's bigger than the one from Tops (on Walnut and Allen) for just about the same price. Tops does get the edge for the smokiness and spice of the pastrami.
At Pietro's they serve all kinds of sandwiches, pizza, pasta and salad. I will be going back to try more menu items. I'll update this review at that point.
In the meantime, if you are in the neighborhood and craving a hot pastrami sandwich I recommend that you give...
Read moreThis is an excellent place. All the ingredients are freshly cut and made to order. I peeked into the kitchen and noticed the chef hand slicing all the vegetables for the pizzas they were baking.
And what a pizza it is. The large 16" pizza is a must order. Generous toppings all over. It has a thin crust but is soft and tasty where cheese and toppings are placed. I usually order the Pietro Special.
But it doesn't stop there. No pizza is complete without the buffalo wings. I don't know the size of the chicken but judging from the buffalo wings it must be a giant. Also it is just the right level of spice and not greasy! How does Pietro do that!
Now without a salad, I would feel guilty eating the pizza and wings so I also order the large Caesar salad. Fresh cut salad. Wonderful to crunch into with the wings and pizza!
Now that is a meal for a Friday...
