Low stars for the al pastor tacos, rock in the tripas and $1 for limones.
The al pastor are $1.75 per maiz taco (tortilla chica), these are white people prizes, I did not expect this for street tacos in this area. In a 10 mile radius you can find way better al pastor tacos for $1. The al pastor was bland and had no sear (no texture). It tasted like a frijol en bola (pinto bean) taco. It did not taste bad, but it 100% did not taste like al pastor taco.
The tripa gordita is a good size and good price, $5. The tripas had good flavor and they were not chewy (good texture). The problem is I do bit think they was them because I chiped a tooth with a rock (piedra).
$1 extra for limones is too much, these are white people prices (not appropriate for this location and low overhead truck). Right now Joe V's down the street has them qty. 7 for $1. Again in a 10 mile radius limones are free.
The red salsa has to be one of the BEST red salsas I have ever tried in Texas. Frijoles taste great. Green salsa...
Read moreOk, I’m torn on writing this review, so just being honest, the tacos are good. The flavors are all there. That touch of oregano and rosemary… yeah i got that! I wish the meat was of better quality and finely sliced instead of cubed. The meat was over seasoned/ marinated too long. and a bit grainy for my taste. Again, the flavors are all there they just need some tweaks to be excellent. I had the “fajitas” which is not but it’s beef. I also had the “pastor”. A little less adobo and fine slice off a fire spit and these would be so much improved. The salsas were great! The green salsa was so on point! The pickled purple onion (curtido) and sliced radishes with cucumber a big plus! The service was excellent. Prices are reasonable. Called in my order and picked up in 10 minutes as promised. It’s a good place in this Mexican food desert! Con tantos mexicanos acá en Pasadena de verdad debe haber mas opciones pero este lugar es lo mas authenticito...
Read moreCame across this taco truck, and we decided to try it out. Parking is narrow but not bad. Their menu items vary, and all look good. We decided to go with the Quesabirria taco plate and ordered some Jarritos for our drink. We also ordered a bean and cheese quesadilla for our toddler. A big plus for us is that they accept cards! Most food trucks are cash only but not here, so we were really pleased with that since we rarely carry cash. The wait was maybe 10 minutes. One of the staff members came out of the truck to hand us our food when it was ready. Everything was there, it was hot and smells soo good! We got home and were very pleased with how everything looked, and of course, it tasted delicious! Our toddler(who can be picky at times) ate up her quesadilla. We will definitely be going back to try other menu items. I want to try a torta and the Birria Ramen they...
