We visited friends in Strawberry about a month ago and they took us to THAT Brewery for dinner on Friday, 10/27/23. The food is truly delicious at THAT Brewery & Pub. We were so impressed, we decided to take home some of their Elk/Beef chile. I ordered TWO bowls of the chile and when the girl, Courtney, brought out the order, it looked like a "cup" of chile. So I said, Oh, I ordered two "bowls" not cups. She said "Yes, this is what we have." Then I asked again, "This is TWO BOWLS of chile, that is what you are saying?" I Thought she heard me wrong, but she again told me that is what it is. So, I thought well maybe there is more than it looks like, so I left a bit frustrated. When we got back to our friends home, I put BOTH orders into a measuring cup and it was just under 8 OUNCES!! I was SO angry and could not believe I paid $17 for that, when it was supposed to be TWO BOWLS!! I was curious how many ounces were actually supposed to be in their "Elk & Beef Chile bowl," so I called the restaurant and I was told "the cup is 8 oz and the bowl is twice that, 16 oz." The photos show the amount that was in the "coffee cups" when I took off the tin foil of what Courtney gave me. Definitely NOT 32 oz of the chile, which is what the amount should have been for TWO "bowls" of the Elk & Beef Chile. Like I said, the food is REALLY good, but just watch out if you get an order of the chile to go. Especially from Courtney. She didn't seem in the best of moods anyway and treated me like, well, I was just in the way and didn't really matter, because I mentioned to her we were taking the chile back to Phoenix. Oh well, perhaps she was having a bad day. Not that it is OK to take it out on the customers, but I will give her that.

We had a pleasant experience at THAT Brewery, which offers both indoor and outdoor seating and a nice selection of craft beers brewed on-site. We started with the mac and cheese. While they don’t make the noodles, the house-made cheese sauce was smooth, well-balanced, and not overpowering. The pasta was cooked just right, tender but not mushy. For my entrée, I went with the smoked meat plate featuring ribs, brisket, and garlic potatoes. The meats are smoked on the premises. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared, and I was happy with my choice. My husband ordered the hamburger paired with an Arizona Trails beer and was equally satisfied with his meal. The service was outstanding. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and even shared recommendations for hikes and activities in the Pine area, which was a thoughtful touch. Overall, a great spot for good food, craft beer, and excellent hospitality.

Delicious food and drinks! The PB&J mixed beer tastes as advertised and its wonderful! We shared their Brisket and the Elk Burger, and both were amazing! The burger is everything a burger should be and definitely satisfied. The Brisket was juicy and tender and full of flavor. I highly recommend both! We also had their Nachos and their Strawyberry Cobbler with icecream, which were everything they should be! The nachos were crunchy amd helped scoop all the ingredients that blended exceptionally well. The Strawberry Cobbler was light and sweet without being too sweet. It tasted almost like a fresh baked cookie with strawberries and icecream! (We sadly forget to feature the cobbler so you'll have to go see it for yourself) If you need a lunch or dinner and you're on the 87 I highly recommend THAT Brewery & Pub

I really wanted to like this place!! I have followed them on Instagram for 2+ years and driven by several times before I finally had the occasion to stop in. My husband and I had just hiked Fossil Creek, it was my birthday, I was finally getting to visit, what could go wrong?? We sat outside in their large courtyard at a table with an umbrella. The place was about half full. Our waitress could hardly be bothered to serve us throughout our visit. We sat ready to order for 10 minutes which probably seemed longer because we were tired and parched from our hike. We both got the Road Rash IPA because it sounded fantastic and just our kind of beer. Well it was a dirty tasting IPA, I can't even name any of the flavors in it, it just was not good. We split a bowl of the elk and beef chili as an appetizer and that was one of the good things about our visit. It was very tasty. We both got a 1/2 sampler Smokehouse Platter and were both sorely disappointed. The ribs and chicken were dry and the brisket was rubbery. The slider buns were not fresh. The smashed garlic potatoes were dry and flavorless. The sautéed brussels sprouts were soggy. The smoked baked beans were delicous and one of the other good things about this visit. We both tried different beers with our meals, I got a Strawberry Blonde which was fantastic and hubby got an Arizona Trail Ale which he liked much better than the Road Rash. Since it was my birthday I wanted to get a dessert. We sat for 10 minutes with empty water glasses, empty beer glasses and obviously finished plates with utensils and napkins stacked on them. We both agreed that it was not worth mentioning the birthday thing since nobody there would give a hoot. Against my better judgement I ordered the molten lava cake anyway and guess what? It was dry and rubbery and tasteless. No surprise we had to wait a bit to get our check and get out of there. I have not been so disappointed in a restaurant for some time. There are far better dining options in PIne, save your time and money and visit...

Our first time here just now ...walked by 2 empty tables in the bar to go out back to enjoy the overcast day after hiking. Helped ourselves to menus. The waitress came to check on us and my guy ordered a beer and I ordered a glass of water to start. We intended to place our order when she came back with the drinks. She dropped off my guys beer...no water for me and left. We waited while enjoying the weather...About 10 - 15 minutes later still no return to take our order or drop off my water.. should have brought my water bladder from the car... we got up and left paying for the one beer and noticing that not only were the 2 empty tables now filled but also had drinks and food on front of them! We were looking forward to the monster burgers...oh well....

Response to reply: we got the menus from people who were eating on the same back patio. Their plating did look like takeout supplies which we thought odd at the time for a restaurant.... there were also menus in multiple locations on same back patio. It doesn't change the fact that the waitress did not pay attention to our words that we would order the food when she got our drinks. She listened to us talk about food items trying to decide. She came back with my guy's beer getting just close enough to put it down and took off again. Where was the water? I had even mentioned that I was driving so was staying with water. Plus when we tapped out we said no one came for our food order... just took our money for the beer... we are nice people and we did even tip 2 bucks on a 5 buck beer as we know that waitstaff rely on to help care for families...at others places we dine if the waitstaff doesn't recognize us, the waitstaff ask "is this your first time here?" so they can guide the diner. I doubt we are the first ones in your establishment to miss the sign as they head for the bar area...you are a busy establishment that doesn't need our business...but please don't put the...

We came here last Saturday 10-7-23 Returning customer......

None of our food was enjoyable, let alone edible.

I ordered the Elk burger, if that's what they call it. It was over seasoned and burnt. It looked and tasted like a jimmy dean sausage. Maybe it was the two pieces of charcoal bacon. I didn't even know you could make bacon not tasty. Iam not convinced it was Elk. Two bites are all it took, to realize this was not the same experience I've had for the last few trips.

The two meat combo (brisket & Chicken) Both meats were so dried out, another complete inedible meal.

Mack and cheese was shared among us, (7) the only thing that got eaten. Still not worth coming back for.

Two kids burgers, over seasoned and burnt . Another kids Chicken tenders was so overcooked, it was basically fried breeding.

Ordered the pretzels, One order came with salt on the side! They didn't even salt the pretzels!!

Nachos we're another disaster! Once again, the meat over seasoned and over cooked. For a place that smokes all meat on site. It's quite frustrating, to get poor quality of product. I feel like the BBQ, was leftover from the day before. It looked that way as well. Never had to cut brisket with a knife before..... until now.

So incredibly frustrating to pay $175+ tip for an absolutely travisty.

Then for your server to not ask why only bites were missing from every plate, adds Insult to injury. I am guessing she knew the kitchen was kicking out garbage plates.

The beer was good, I just can't drink enough of it to make the food edible.

With the way the economy is going, It's extremely expensive to travel all that way. To end up at McDonald's. Just to compare how much better the meat from McDonald's was.

I know, THAT brewery can do better. Unfortunately, I won't be back to experience it. To many other establishments in the area.

Looking for decent beers, and a nice patio definitely come here. Just eat...
