Crackd has consistently exceeded my expectations for breakfast food quality. At this point, I -always- expect to be satisfied and happy with a filling and flavorful meal. The next mediocre experience here will be my first.
The food has always been high quality, well prepared and very tasty. I've gotten it for eat-in and take-out many times. I tried their burgers, not expecting more than adequate and was surprised to find them as well made, and as well prepared, as their breakfast offerings.
If I had any complaint about Crackd, it's that the establishments are often on the smaller side and not meant for large numbers of sit down patrons. This is great for a main focus on takeout and it's fine for most smaller parties. I tend to like to sit and relax at breakfast and sometimes have a larger gathering; Crackd accommodations won't fit that bill. Get some great food to go and take it elsewhere in that case.
Pricewise, Crackd isn't budget food. It's also not bank breaking. It's somewhere in the mid, or high mid range for what it sells. That said, the food itself is superb. Your own tastes will be the judge of whether it proves its value.
If you have not tried Crackd, I can recommend it. The staff at the Peabody and Andover locations are friendly, courteous and prepared. If you like their food options, I expect you will enjoy...
Read moreUPDATED: Not sure if businesses realize, but the awkward POS device that is handed to customers, THRU THE DRIVE-THRU, for the SOLE purpose of tip intimidation is losing them customers (well me anyway), I refuse to visit any cafe/drive thru that puts a paying customer in the awkward position of having to choose to tip or not, to be handed an item thru a window, the POS device is awkward, probably filthy, small print. And yes, I know I can press NO, and I did, but it's so unnecessary, pay your staff, no one on staff is getting server minimum wage to warrant the request. Go back to a tip jar on the counter. Anyhow, my point, buh-bye, CRACK'D.
CRACK'D is almost 5 star worthy, but not quite. I've been here several times and just about everything ordered is super tasty, fresh, hot, all the things. However, where they fail is their to go orders. I've started to just expect that something will be wrong, the wrong side item, the missing sauce, the ignored modification. Totally frustrating and no matter how good your food is, the latter is enough to keep me away when I'm paying premium. Seems easy enough to fix, hopefully they do, even more frustrating after a tip is left (BTW, it's time to remove these tip options, that was a COVID thing...
Read moreThis spot has been around for a bit, and located around the corner from my office.
It hasn't been on my food radar as a Celiac (gluten allergy) since I didn't think there was much on the menu I could consume.
I was perusing the 'Find Me Gluten Free' app in the vicinity of my office, when I came across several reviews and ratings for a variety of menu items.
Being able to have a fried chicken sandwich on a nicely toasted roll is truly a treat to GF folks, and this sweet and spicy concoction did not disappoint!
Add a side of perfectly crunchy chips, and it made for a excellent lunch!
The in-house menu didn't specifically note GF items/modifications, but in some of the reviews I read, they noted that most of the menus can be modified to he GF.
It was a bit pricier than I would like to spend on a takeout lunch, but it was super tasty and I've grown accustomed to the 'celiac tax'. Most GF equivalent foods are typically more expensive than their wheat based counterparts! 🤷♂️
Will definitely be back to try other...
