Yesterday, September 20th, I ordered a side dish (to-go) of grilled chicken. When I got home and opened it, I was very disappointed. The Chicken was so charred and burnt. BLACK all around the edges. Burnt or "Charred" meat is a well known carcinogenic. It's called Heterocyclic Amines; Which has been linked to increased risk of these cancers: Solorectal Cancer, Stomach Cancer, and Pancreatic Cancer. It's when a piece of meat is cooked way too long on high heat causing the meat to become black. I brought it back the very next day to show them. When I opened up the container, I said to the cook (might be the owner) that the chicken is burnt, black and extremely dry. His reaction was deplorable, he yelled at me in front of other patrons and co-workers. He said; "Lady, that's what "Grilled Chicken" is supposed to look like. Well, I come from a long line of cooks from decades passed.....I know the difference between grilled chicken and BURNT & DRY chicken. Grilled Chicken should have a light golden color, unlike the picture below~ So he angrily whipped off his gloves, roughly opened the register, and started taking out the money that the chicken cost. He slammed down money, while still saying out real loud that the chicken was cooked perfectly~! I could not believe the rage in his voice, and how unprofessionally he responded. A good chef would have offered to replace the chicken...His poor and unprofessional reactions are inexcusable in any environment, especially in Food Service. Let me also add to my disappointing experience at Marano's (located in West Peabody-previously known as "Lupo's)....while I was waiting for the food, a young girl that was working behind the counter had gloves on...while waiting for the deep fryer food to cook, she was putting her gloved fingers in her ears as if to itch them, she was also playing with long front braided hair. Ewwwwwww~! So I "discretely" told a co-worker that she may want to tell her to change her gloves after itching her ears & playing with her braid. Her response: "We change our gloves a lot." Yuck, is that before or after she sticks her fingers in her ears and caresses her hair-?? That is so unsanitary~ Let me share with you what I learned many years ago when I worked in food service; If a customer likes a restaurant, they may tell a handful of people, but if someone has a bad experience at a food place, like I did, they're going to tell a whole LOT of people.....

I haven’t been here in a while and only a couple of times since it was Lupos, but it doesn’t compare. I got a large chicken parm sub today. I gave it three stars because the flavor was good probably because of the sauce, but the chicken is extremely thin, as you can see the picture, and the chicken was really tough to chew through. Ps: and for a phone order, did you really need my first name my last initial and my telephone number?

Before ownership changed this place was fantastic. Don’t get me wrong the food is decent, but every time I order from there it seems they’re having issues. Last time I ordered, i went to pick up my food and overheard the delivery driver mention he delivered to the wrong address…again. Meanwhile I was sitting there waiting for my food for 20+ minutes, I asked about it again to see how long it would be and the girl picked it up right beside her where it sat the entire 20 minutes, meaning it WAS ready when I got there. Then today, I wanted to call an order to be delivered. I didn’t have my card on me (my partner accidentally left with it in their wallet) but I had the numbers for them to run. The girl on the phone told me they were “too busy to run my card” I asked her if it’s that she isn’t ABLE to or if she won’t, she said she could but she wouldn’t do it for me. That’s when I told her they will be losing a customer and a sale by not doing it. She said “that’s okay”. I doubt I will be going back after this experience. Now I’m going to be ordering my chicken Marsala from...

Yesterday 1-12-2025 I went into this pizzeria and ordered chicken wings and a slice of pizza. All though the chicken wings were fine I was a bit caught off guard when I looked into the bag. It had two pieces of French fries when I never asked for does.

All though with the pizza, when I went and got it I opened it and it was completely burned on the crust of pizza. I found this to be very disrespectful and unprofessional from the staff to put a burned crust of pizza and hand it to me when I spend my money on it.

When I tried explaining the situation to the owner/manager he seemed like he didn’t care and he proceeded to say — (all he can do is give me a new slice of pizza for me to reheat on my own). He didn’t apologize for the mistake he or his staff had made and seemed to not bother.

(Everything happened so fast I did have a chance to take pictures of this unpleasant moment with my food.) but all of this happened and I hope it doesn’t happen to anyone else.

Once again I found this to be very unprofessional. And this place has definitely unfortunately lost a...
