Rated four stars which is high for me in a place so recently opened. Service was somewhat a team effort, which worked to keep service in the acceptable range for a busy time. Décor was funky on purpose, and it worked for us. Now, to the food! The Cinnamon Roll had a cream cheese-based icing and was delicious. The wife, who is a cinnamon roll devotee, approved greatly. She also enjoyed her Mom’s Love breakfast, finding the bacon and eggs cooked perfectly for her taste. She also enjoyed the French Toast. I wanted to order one of the listed omelets but spying tomato gravy offered on Larry’s Day Starter I had to have that instead. Tomato gravy is NOT commonly found in commercial establishments. The sausage, bacon, and biscuit were of good quality and delicious. The tomato gravy was good, but not as good as dear ole moms. I did make a suggestion on the tomato gravy, based on some personal research on making the best tomato gravy with commercially available items (yes, I AM that much a tomato gravy fan). Other opinions to taste may vary, and let me assure there was no tomato gravy wasted on MY plate! We will return even though it is all the way across town from us. I have to, there are at least two of the omelets I MUST try!
3/10/2020 - got back by to try an omelet and I must say that the Sissy's Omelet will not disappoint! Great service when not running near peak, in fact it was so fast I told the waitress it was amazingly quick when my food arrived so fast. The omelet was really great, excellent gravy and real good cheddar. I raised the rating as they are worth five stars! Great food at a good value.
12/28/2022 Been in a few times, but decided to update. Still say 5 stars. Had the Sissy's Sausage Gravy Omelet again, and loved it even more@! Wife had the Cajun Shrimp Omelet and it was great too.
06/25/2024 Been in a few times since last review. Food is still good, but potatoes were a little salty today. Wife has fallen in love with the gumbo and the shrimp basket with how cakes. She got that today, with a side of Gouda Grits. I had the Sissy's Sausage Gravy omelet again, and it was very good as before.
Service was outstanding, and you now pay at the table if using a card. We will return! 6/25/2025

My mom got Monica's Morning Burritos which comes with two full size breakfast burritos stuffed full of eggs, bacon, and cheese served with a side of crispy and perfectly seasoned potatoes. The salsa had a lot of kick (wimps be warned), but the sour cream balanced it out with a cool finish.
My soft and fluffy pancakes came piled with strawberries and Aunt Katie's homemade whipped cream along with a side of eggs and bacon I was barely able to touch because of how large and delicious the pancakes were.
Between the two of us, we easily had enough for at least two more people - the portion are humongous! You'll get the bang for your buck here, for sure!
Now, I would be doing you a disservice if I didn't tell you about their Irish Coffees - I got cinnamon and my mom got hazelnut, beautifully topped by Katie's whipped cream and sprinkled with cinnamon and nutmeg. The drinks came out the perfect temperature for an October morning and were dangerously smooth. Katie insisted we also try her homemade hot chocolate - a mix of cocoa, spiced rum, and topped with candied bacon! Generally I avoid bacon and chocolate together, but this was a show-stopping combination that ended up being my favorite drink of the morning!
Despite opening only a month before the lock down began, this brunch café is a hidden gem right where Scenic Hwy and Cervantes Street meet. The atmosphere was upscale casual and pieces from local artists hang on the walls available for purchase. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and Beth patiently answered all our questions and made recommendations, but it's safe to say you won't be disappointed by paying a visit to Aunt Katie's. It feels like...
Read moreI did a lot of research to prepare for our trip had heard great reviews so we knew we had to check it out! Jay was our server and he was exceptional! The menu has a great selection including flavored cold brew which was delicious (Dulce de leche with oat milk, 10/10). They even offer a free kids meal with adult entree which was not expected but extremely appreciated. The food came out quick and was delicious. I particularly liked that I could get my bacon crispy! Overall, this is a must go to spot!
We are here for a short time but we are definitely going once more before we leave.
The only downside were the unkind patrons who were in the room with us. Our son is 1 yr old and just being himself. He likes to jabber like any toddler does at this age. The elderly couple, and what I assume is their adult daughter, in the back made a comment, loud enough that we could hear, about the noise our child was making. While I understand having a toddler make noise during your breakfast is an inconvenience, it just a little disheartening to see the general public treat others this way. They were definitely locals as they were supporting their “I voted” stickers when they walked in. It was obvious we were wrapping up as we were getting a box and check, so the comment just felt unnecessary. If you ever find your way to this comment, I want you to know how unkind that felt for our family, although, you likely don’t care based on what behavior we...
