Awesome place. Went there for breakfast on Saturday around 10 am. Thankfully it wasn't packed. The restaurant is very cool and also a store. It has a rustic, eclectic feel to it, decorated with what nots and mismatched furniture. It's a seat yourself policy. We were greeted immediately after we sat down. Silverware served in metal tin with napkins. I got the traditional breakfast - bagel with cream cheese, eggs, meat, potatoes vs grits. It was so good. I got scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, blueberry bagel with honey almond cream cheese. I also ordered a side of grits. Everything was really good. The bagel was great, house made cream cheese. The only thing about the food, you have to add salt to the food, no big deal. Hubby got the Monte Cristo - bagel with boars head ham and honey, cheese and covered in powdered sugar, and preserves. He also got the coffee and latte. Both were strong but good. The server was very attentive and always checked on us. Once we got the check we had to walk through the store to get to the check out counter. The store was really cool, had a bunch of cool things to buy. The counter had all types of coffee choices and candy. They also had cookies, honey, olive oil and other things to buy. The hubby got the raw frosted honey which was awesome and would taste great over ice cream. Would definitely return to try other things. It has cool pottery littering the walk way. They have outside seating too.
Update - Jan 2016 This place is still good to us. This would be our 3rd visit. We arrived at 10 am and luckily we did because the hours posted stated that they opened at 10 am instead of thr 9 am that is listed on websites. When I asked our waitress about it she said the time sometimes changed but the doors would still be opened if we had of showed up at 9 am. You seat yourself and the waiters come to you. The seating area is still rustic and adorable. Since it was a cold, windy day I got the hot chocolate and the hubby got caramel mocha. I really enjoyed my hot chocolate, the homemade whipped cream was amazing, thick and very tasty. It didn't even melt which was awesome because minutes later and throughout my meal I could still enjoy it. I got the traditional breakfast again - I choose bacon, scrambled eggs, grits and potatoes and blueberry bagel with honey almond cream cheese - my usual. The little one got pancakes and bacon with fruit cup. The hubby got the spinach and bacon omelette. Everything was very good as usual. The store now sold clothing, socks, glasses, cards, and as usual candy, cookies, coffee grains, honey and more. Service and food was still wonderful.
Aug 2017 - hubby got me a to go plate. Salmon, beans and mashed potatoes. This was my first time ever eating there dinner. It was delicious. The salmon was made perfectly and had a nice glaze sauce. The sides were delicious too and well seasoned. I did sample some mac anf cheese and it wasn't box mac and cheese. It had a very rich cheese texture. I highly recommend trying...
Read moreThis is going to be my first Google review ever! I had a horrible experience at this restaurant. My wife and I finally got a morning away from the kids and we wanted to go enjoy a peaceful breakfast with just the two of us. When we showed up we ordered some coffee. I was still waking up from the night before from having to deal with the crazy kiddos and you have to have coffee with your breakfast right? Sooooo, I was pretty excited about trying a new breakfast place. When we received our coffee, the coffee tasted flavored (we hate flavored coffee) and when we asked the server about it she said it was their traditional coffee and it was not flavored. So we ordered water.. I was kind of bummed because coffee is probably the most important part of any breakfast but I hoped that the food would make up for it... But the food did not.. The Belgian waffle tasted like a waffle that you make at a motel. You know the ones that you make yourself that comes with the continental breakfast. Just like that but it had cinnamon and sugar put on top with one small landolakes spread packet. One... Just one... Butter packet. My wife's eggs and hash Browns were gross and her bagel was just a normal bagel... But this is not the reason that I am writing the review. The reason for the review is because of what happened next. The waitress comes by and asked us if we wanted a to go box (we still have basically all of our food still on the table and un-eaten) we said no we didn't want the to go box because we didn't like the food. She stopped... Her jaw dropped and she just walked off. No I am sorry or can I get a manager or anything. Growing up in the restaurant industry my whole life I was shocked by this. If I did that to a table when I was waiting I would have been fired or at least had a good talking to. So after waiting a while to see if she would come back with a manager, we decided to go up to the front and pay (she never came back). When we got to the front we were asked how the food was and we responded that it wasn't very good and I asked to speak to a manager. The cashier then says that our waitress was the General Manager.... And if we wanted to talk to her.... What? Are you kidding me? The GM is going to treat customers like this? Wow... Just wow... I will never come back to this place which is very unfortunate because I love to support local businesses. So bummed right now. I just paid for something that I didn't even eat and now I am driving to get some coffee. Very...
Read moreWe work near by and our office orders from here quite often or goes in to eat. With that being said, we’ve had several different experiences there. The server who works almost everyday, sometimes she’s in a good mood and sometimes she seems like she couldn’t be more bothered by having to do her job. We’ve never had a bad experience with the food though. The philly and Reuben are favorites. Yesterday, after getting off work I stopped by to get a frappe. On the menu it is described as having a shot of espresso, your choice of flavor and blended with ice cream and topped with whipped cream. I asked for a caramel frappe and was told they don’t make them. I questioned the young girl, I think her name was Kaley, and she said oh yeah we do but it’s made with ice cream, I said that was fine. (I already knew.) What I received was a vanilla shake, no espresso, no caramel, no whipped cream and she had major attitude the entire time I interacted with her. This was about 30-40 minutes before...
