Nancy's Catering & Events — Restaurant in Pensacola

I had Nancy’s Catering for my wedding recently, and it really hurts my heart to give 3 stars. The food was the part I was most excited for especially for my guests, we all know how important food is at a party. Jessica was my caterer for this event. I have never left reviews before, but planning my wedding, I’ve come to realize how important reviews are. Granted my husband and I and not from Florida, so unfortunately we were unable to taste the food beforehand. I got the plated service but looking at the portions, I realized I probably should’ve have gotten the buffet option (comes with 2 options of food per person vs. 1 option per person) .Food was good (Shrimp and Crawfish Savannah 3/5) (Sun Dried Tomato Crusted Chicken 4/5) but portions did seem a bit small, mainly referring to the pasta, the chicken was a well portioned dish. The servers were kind, super friendly. There was something a bit off putting about my caterer, I kept asking myself if there was something I might have done to offend her, point is not how I wish I would’ve felt wedding day about the catering, but there was so much going on that day, which I can understand why I might have felt that way. Nancy agreed to plan my wedding, but then routinely told me how my budget wasn't enough for her full attention. It even got so bad, I tried to back out of it, but she wouldn't give me my deposit back. She refused to let me out of the deal and routinely told me how much more money she was used to making for other weddings. I ended up spending over $25,000. My budget was $15,000. During my wedding she was so rude to my guests that people said things to me. My bridesmaids had to go on damage control and do her job for her (ie, tell guests where to put their gifts). Nancy was wholey uninterested in making my wedding day special. She was dismissive for all of my ideas to do more on a budget. The ONE vendor I used on her recommendation (all the others I found myself) was horrible. She recommended a certain DJ and I thought that was simple enough. The DJ was awful. I wouldn't recommend her for any bride or party planner that is budget conscious.

It is so sad because my family has known hers for many years and we've used Nancy and Skupelos (remember when) for many occasions in the past. Never again. Really, she was horrible. I still feel sad about how she treated me...

I would have loved to use this company, however I never got a chance. I emailed the company and with no response, and I called, and of course had to leave a voicemail. I received a call and was told that I would have a quote the next day. Awesome! Not awesome. No quote a week later with no response on any sort of timeline. I was hesitant to work with them at this point and then decided to give them another chance. I emailed and received a txt saying I would get a quote over the weekend. The weekend has come and gone with no response or update. It’s unfortunate that they couldn’t give me the time of day. The inconsistency makes me frightened to use a company for such a big event. I’ll be moving on.
