Have you ever been hungry and lazy at the same time? When you want to go out to eat but don't want to have to schlep from the parking lot into the restaurant, be seated, look at the menu, wait for the waitress, etc, etc?
Well we have.
And when we feel like this we head straight to Tacos Mexicanos. At the edge of East Hill, conveniently located off of E Fairfield Drive, it's our favorite neighborhood Mexican. We, pretty much, always get the street tacos because you cannot go wrong with the street tacos. Nat usu orders chicken and Will usu orders carnitas. Last time Will ordered the barbacoa and it was def a thumbs up on the barbacoa. Will gets the hot salsa, Nat gets the medium.
There are picnic tables for eating there or Mexicanos will bag it up for you to take home. I can't provide input on any menu items other than the street tacos, but the street tacos travel well; although, it's less than 10 minutes fr TM to our home.
Def a must try. Enjoy!!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo Iām Mexican-American 1st gen so I feel a bit more legit in evaluating birria tacos š®ā¦ this cute food truck birria tacos are A-MA-ZING!!! The tacos are slightly crispy with juicy luscious shredded beef that just melts in your mouth. I opted for the spicy sauce which was a bit spicy and super flavorful. Three tacos š® with cheese crumbles, and lime wedges, cilantro, red onion and birria juice on the side⦠just a beautiful explosion of fresh flavor dripping beef and birria juices through your fingers trying not to lose your beef in the birria juice⦠just heavenly. Reading other reviews here of 3-stars for birria tacos makes no sense to me, did you and I eat the same birria tacos? Iām so glad I tried the tacos myself. It was a cold and rainy day, the staff turned on an outdoor heater while we waited for our food. Overall, loved our first impression and feel like these birria tacos will be difficult to beatā¦the bar has been set high! It may be difficult for me to order anything else when I come backā¦the birria tacos⦠yum,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI spent a total of six years living in Texas and California, but these are the best tacos I've ever had. Supplies of meats are subject to demand, so if you go late, they may be out of some things, but don't worry. I've tried at least one of every taco now, and everything is excellent.
They double shell with fresh soft corn tortillas, stuffed full with your meat of choice and served with a lime and a choice of mild or hot sauce. Both are thick green sauces. The hot is actually hot, and the mild is full of flavor as well. (I tried some of my wife's.) I'm not normally into the mild sauce, but this was amazing.
The staff are very nice, courteous, and seem thankful for and humbled by the popularity they're generating. They're getting it all right at Tacos Mexicanos. Everyone is always talking about El Asador behind the Shell station on Davis, and don't get me wrong, they're good, but this place beats them hands down. If you're a fan of tacos (and come on... who isn't?), you owe it to yourself to...
