5/29/25 ~ Lucky’s was recommended by a person who works at my dry cleaners after we had a lengthy conversation about pizzerias in the Phoenix area. Tonight was my chance to try them. The online menu had some selections, but was vague on all the options offered for pizzas. I saw their Sicilian deep dish (Detroit style) that piqued my interest. It was topped with sausage, pepperoni, peppers, onions, and cheese. Upon pick up they were still baking the pie. The pizzeria is fairly clean, and offers plenty of seating. The men’s room was also fairly clean - but no towels. I wanted a beverage while waiting, and they were kind in offering a cup. No ice in the fountain machine. No problem as they filled the cup with ice. They have Pepsi products. The wait was brief, and I had the order on my way home. Any other day this would be a drive, but no problem taking a slight detour after work. When I got home I was hungry. I was expecting more than what I got as the pizza was doughy, and had considerable flop. It wasn’t light and crisp like a Detroit style pizza. It was heavy. There was some flavor, and the toppings appeared to be thicker in some parts of the pizza than other parts. I’m wondering if the pizza shifted, and caused the toppings to fall to one side. In one corner of the box there was a considerable amount of grease. I will try their other pizzas another time. Doubt I’ll order the Sicilian pizza again. It’s nothing close to a deep dish by Lou Malnati’s. Do give Lucky’s a try. For now the best pizza in the Valley is Deno’s.
6/5/25 ~ Returned for take out ordering a 14” thin crust sausage, mushroom, onions, green peppers, and cheese pizza. This is much better than their Sicilian. No flop with a very good crust. A nice amount of cheese; much better than last week’s experience that had too much cheese. The service is good, and consistent. If I’m in the area again I would consider coming here again. The thin crust pizza gets 4 ✨, service 4 ✨, and atmosphere is neutral...
Read moreThought I’d give them another try today. What an absolute joke. They never answer the phone. I just spent 45mins calling them 6 times at the 7452 number (Google) and their 6857 number (from their website) to place an order and nobody answers the phone! You just get a “this voicemail hasn’t been setup” message and then you’re hung up on. This happened last time I tried them too. I literally drove to the restaurant and confronted the worker/owner and asked him if he ever answers the phone. “Oh sorry sir, what can I get you?” Yeah dude.. let me order my food now that I’m here and WAIT 30 mins in your dining room because you don’t have enough common sense to have someone with a pulse answering the phone. I tried to order from their online ordering page today too and got “we are taking a pause.. call us..” yeah, I tried that, as noted above. Guess I’ll order Barro’s or something. You clowns need to get it together.. I imagine you’re losing $3k a week just from your own incompetence alone. Half of the people in AZ are from parts of the country that would eat a cardboard box if you put sauce and cheese on it and called it a pizza because they have no taste buds and grew up drinking water out of lead pipes. So, It’s not your food quality losing you guys money it’s literally your own ineptness. Bring back CheeseHeadz at this point. The pizza wasn’t my favorite, but at least they answered...
Read moreDisappointed with Lucks Pizza Experience
I was really looking forward to trying Lucks Pizza, but unfortunately, my experience was far from enjoyable.
The pizza arrived cold, which completely ruined the flavors and texture. It tasted like it had been sitting out for a long time. The wait time was much longer than expected, and there was little communication about the delay. The worst part was the inappropriate comment made toward an Asian delivery driver. There’s absolutely no excuse for discrimination in any setting, let alone a place meant to serve the community.
If Lucks Pizza wants to maintain a good reputation, they need to work on serving food fresh, improving delivery times, and training staff to be respectful and inclusive. A business thrives when it treats all customers with dignity and provides consistent quality in its service.
I hope they take feedback seriously and work toward making...
