Recently I had a dream about the "prime rib" tacos I noticed in their advertisement... and now, they're guaranteed to be a nocturnal omission.
I had an inkling that this might be a less-than-stellar experience, because (1) the restaurant is on the property of a golf course, and (2) that golf course is in a retirement community. But thinking that it might be a good opportunity to pen a review, I grabbed bae and headed eastward.
Here are a few observations I made in the first 3 minutes... if you enjoy spending your golden years playing canasta with your friends in an empty dining room, you might like TLNG if you have a lactose intolerance, you might like TLNG
The Good: the chips that accompanied our specials were light and crisp
The Meh: the hot wings were okay, but nowhere near a hot and fresh order at Native.
The Bland: I consider myself something of a taco'nista, and these tacos were kinda horrendo'nista.
Not sure their "prime rib" resembled any that I've enjoyed in the past. The meat was kinda old and had no seasoning. Good thing they had no cheese, or I would have tried to choke them down.
The "fish" tacos were aptly named... cuz baby, they were just fish and a corn tortilla... no cabbage, no crema, no queso, no bliss.
I cant recall the last time I thought fancily about my Water-Pik whilst engaged with an entree. I'm gonna wash that chum right outta my grill and sent it on...
Read moreAlthough the food was good, I personally did not enjoy the experience. The staff was friendly but not professional; there needs to be a balance.
Masks were 'enforced' but improperly worn. The prices were not awful but for the taste and quality, it should have been cheaper. The place was empty and the decor was cheaply done. The letters of the restaurant were makeshift and combined pieces of letters to spell it out.
Also, while moving things on the table, the staff grabbed my mask and moved it. This was when I knew I wouldn't be returning
I had fun because of who I was with, but if I wanted to go out to dinner, this would most likely be the place I mention as a joke in the car. They really are friendly, but to a point where it felt too casual and uncomfortable.
I wish the staff the best of luck and understand that business during Covid is difficult, but anyone looking for a place to eat should try other...
Read moreAwesome, in a word. Bacon cheddar burger was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and grilled onions were a delicious add-on. Fried zucchini was thinly cliced, crispy, and flavorful. House made marinara was well above and beyond expectations. I plan on buying at least a jar next time i go in. Hand breaded onion rings were as massive as described and crispy. Pulled pork sandwich was also tasty, and really had the only small criticism - some parts were dried out, but being how late my wife and i went in (about 1 hr prior to close), everything was fantastic. Kaelea was able to answer our questions easily, readily, and even eagerly, knowing it was our first time in. Between her overall attitude (A+), general demeanor (again, A+), and our overall experience, it is definitely worth a visit.
Almost forgot: nearly spotless on every table. Floors clean. Spotless, shiny silverware and...
