Sitting here reflecting on our amazing dinner last night. We met up with a few friends for dinner. They had eaten at V's Taproom previously, but this was our first visit. They were excited to share this place with us because they love it so much! It was a busy March, Friday evening with cold winds and off and on again rain. We were seated on the patio tucked in near the fireplace with a heater next to the table. While we waited for the last couple, we enjoyed drinks, appetizers and a fabulous atmosphere. We quickly forgot we were having unusual weather. Our server was top notch. She glided in and away quietly keeping our drinks filled, without interrupting the conversation. At some point the GM, Jon Morgan, stopped over to check on us. We told him it was our first visit. He quickly ran through some suggestions. I have a food allergy and asked about what I should consider to avoid any issues with cross contamination. He detailed their high standards of excellence to avoid these concerns. He reminded me to always alert the server so she can remind the chef. He made some excellent suggestions. We were enjoying the conversation so much, he explained the area and the other properties owned by the company. He surprised us with a visit from the chef, as well. The chef actually offered to make some dinner choices not even on the menu! It was so nice to have such a personalized experience with exceptional service from beginning to end. It is nearly impossible to put into words the high quality of the food and presentation. All meals were delivered hot and delicious and together. Sadly, it seems the quality of restaurant food has declined considerably these days. This was not the case with V's Taproom. It was such a wonderful change in experience and took us back to the days when restaurants really care about the total package experience. I assure you that all of us will be back... often! This may be our "Go To" restaurant of choice from now on. Even if we have to wait for a table, we know that every minute is worth the wait. Thank you Jon, for your time on a busy evening. Please thank you chef and staff (from server to bartender). We could not have been more impressed! We will see you on our next visit, and the visit after that, and so on and so forth. You have created a regular customer from your standard...
Read moreDo NOT plan ANY GROUP events at this establishment!!!! First I’d like to start off by saying that I’ve been coming to this restaurant for 10+ years and I’ve generally always had a good experience. I can only attribute the AWFUL service from the current management, as I’ve never been treated so poorly at V’s in the past. It’s really sad and disappointing… as a result I’ll never be back. I called the restaurant a week in advance and spoke to the manager JR to let him know we were going to have 20 people and would like tables together. He argued on the phone said they don’t accept reservations and there’s nothing I can do, but to tell me to go on Yelp (which DOESN’T ALLOW the large group size reservations at all). So the day of, we called at 1pm to again state that 20 people would be showing up at 4:30 and although we understand no “reservations” would be accepted, we just wanted to be courteous so the current staff wasn’t shocked when we showed up. The manager on duty said in a very sweet voice, ok thank you for calling, “we’ll take care of you”. Boy, was that the biggest LIE EVER!!!! We showed up right at 4:30 and the hostesses were completely stunned. They said 5 parties were before us, which was fine with us. We just went and sat in the largest table in the bar and took it over while we were waiting to get seated anyway. Unfortunately it was really tight and some had to stand. About 45 mins later they proceeded to try to sit our party in pieces (like 4 at a time) in different tables AROUND THE RESTAURANT as if we weren’t in the same party. We refused since we obviously wanted to sit together. The managers couldn’t understand that! LOL it’s so ridiculous and absurd it’s almost comical. The server then screwed up several orders and some didn’t get their food all together. Please take my advice, if you have any large parties or group event STEER CLEAR OF V’s TAPROOM. This was the biggest disaster and I’m ashamed and embarrassed that I asked everyone to meet here, as they used to be so gracious and accommodating in...
Read moreWe have gone to V's several times, one of our go to's when we want to eat out. I just reliezed I hadn't left a review yet. Recently the service has been lacking, not attentive, having to wait longer, etc.
But the food makes up for the recent lack of service.
On December visit: The ambiance is always relaxing and elegant, with views of the golf course and water. The service is friendly and the menu has a variety of dishes to suit different tastes and preferences.
We opted to share two appetizers. The wonton tacos, super crispy shell stuffed with juicy flavorful short ribs. The meatballs are a must! Very generous portion and flavorful sauce. We had extra sauce so got an extra order of the garlic bread that comes on the side.
For cocktails: I had a double espresso Martini, one of the many cocktails that the restaurant offers.
On my November visits: it was a beautiful day so we sat out on the patio. We try to sit on the patio any chance we can. I really enjoyed the watermelon salad, the pine nuts and fennel are a great compliment. We also got the French dip to share and it was fantastic. It was easy to share, we let them know in advance and they brought us an extra au juice.
For cocktails: I got the strawberry basil Martini, it was a perfect drink for a sunny day. Sweet but not too sweet as there is some lemon in there.
I highly recommend the V' Taproom to anyone who is looking for a great dining experience on a golf course. The food, the drinks, atmosphere are all top-notch. It is a place that I will definitely...
