Mr. Sams Ice Cream Truck — Restaurant in Pequannock Township

Do yourself a favor and do not hire this man for your party. Made arrangements with him back in June and was very honest and upfront- while we were not expecting 50 people at our party we would be happy to pay for 50 ( his minimum) and asked him to stay 30-60min to allow our guests to get ice cream twice. The gentleman agreed, via text. Yet today showed up extremely angry and when I went out to greet him and ask him if he wanted something to eat he told me he wanted to serve the ice cream and leave. I said that is not what we agreed on and told him I was going to get proof of his text messages. I told all my guests and my little birthday boy to head outside to get ice cream only to find that this man left. My son was so disappointed and it was heart breaking to explain why the ice cream truck would leave. I don’t usually leave reviews, especially not bad ones. Completely unprofessional and extremely rude! I booked my son’s birthday party months in advanced. I emailed him the week of to confirm the date and time which was agreed upon. He tried to change the time of arrival with no explanation. I voiced my reasoning for the requested time as I had other vendors coming and did not want to interfere, but was willing to work with his unprofessional changes. The next day I was told he is completely booked and his second truck was in for repairs. I would be understanding if he told me the reason for canceling was truck repairs, but being “completely booked” after I have email receipts of our booking is ridiculous. He then went on to say “People lose their lives unexpectedly. This is nothing.” Clearly this man couldn’t handle a little feedback from a female. Email receipts to prove his attitude and unprofessional nature if anyone needs more confirmation. Also can’t wait for his response below....

I booked Sam to come to my daughter's birthday party on 6/28 at 8pm a week prior; on the 28th I texted him to confirm. He then told me he had to change it to 7pm because he had a bigger event to go to; when I told him that time didn't work for us he said he could come at 9. I agreed that time would work but asked him to please confirm that he would be there as if he couldn't make it then I'd have to make other arrangements, which he did. At 8:50pm I texted him to see if he was on his way and got no response. I called him at 9pm and left him a voicemail, he called back at 9:15 and said he was still working the other event, but because he had committed to me he would still come - at 10:10pm (he was 40 minutes away from me).
