Denny's — Restaurant in Perryville

This was the worst experience of my life. Me and my family were on vacation and we went to eat at Denny’s because it was the closest place still open around 11pm. However when we got there we were rudely refused sitting in because the hostess gave us an attitude. Now we understand we can’t sit it was an hour to close and we were a group of 9 maybe she just wanted to leave however the other interactions after that were simply rude and that hostess came off as racist. We ordered in 2 groups one of 4 the other of 5 and to all of us she was giving an attitude, she was rolling her eyes at us, she was acting like she didn’t want to work there or deal with us, she kept resting her head on her arm while huffing and puffing, and then we could hear her snickering with her coworkers about how all of us came in so close to closing time and she was annoyed about it. On top of that attitude when we asked for drinks she rudely said that they were not making drinks now unless they were fountain drinks however when other people went to ask for drinks that were not simply sodas those were made without complaints. To top it all off after we waited like 25-30 minutes for our food (which fine we’re a big group that makes sense I think) they did not give us utensils and when both groups went up to ask for utensils only one group was given some she completely ignored the other half of our group. We also heard her loudly complaining about how she was not tipped however after all those horrible interactions we did not feel like a tip was a good idea she was barely doing her job and it was like rewarding her for not doing her job and her bad behavior. One of our two groups did tip and that was the one without utensils. Now as for the food the fries were so stale not even ketchup saved them and we had 3 kids meals. 1 was chicken tenders with a side of grapes it literally only had 2 chicken tenders and a very small grapes container, Mac and cheese which barely had anything looked like half the plate was eaten when we received it and the side dish of goldfish/crackers was not in either bag. The third kids meal came correct however when we looked at the menu we realized that the make your own jr thing with pancakes comes with 3 pancakes bacon egg and a sausage however the hostess told us to pick what 3 things we wanted and I’m unsure if we weren’t clear or if she just ignored us but we had to repeat every item for all meals multiple times (up to 4 times even). I have a picture of the kids meal that was messed up with barely anything in it however we did put the two chicken tenders with the Mac and cheese because it was so ridiculously little but it was fresh out of the bag. It's been many years since I've been to a Denny's, but I'm a 90's kid and loved it growing up. I didn't think about it, but this was my daughter's very first Denny's visit! And it was perfect. 😁

We were staying at the great wolf lodge nearby for my daughter's birthday and my hubby's family came to see us for the day since they live nearby and we wanted something good without breaking the bank. That's just not possible at GWL for a table of 7!

So the mother in law suggested Denny's and off we went. We got this absolute gem of a waitress, she looks sort of like Dolly Parton and she was as sweet as pie. She was training a young waitress who was also very nice. Props to her as well.

So our lovely Dolly Parton waitress made some great suggestions to help us decide, and we got everything pretty fast. The food was delicious for Denny's! And they kept the classics but have some new stuff. I got the Choco-nana pancake/egg combo thingy and OMG it's SO much food! Cooks were definitely playing their A-game which can be hard to come by when any place is slow. It seems that's when cooks tend to slack. I should know, I waitressed for over ten years! I will say I like my hash browns a little more cooked but I'll know to ask them to cook it crispier next time. Everything was still delicious.

There was just a good vibe overall and we really enjoyed having a family meal together in such a friendly environment. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip, and it was one of the cheapest! We would have given both our waitresses $100 if we could, they were amazing. Heading here for breakfast because it was on my way to my destination came in the hostess was with someone else told me she would be with me in a minute she sat me at a booth and the table was wet she ask me what she can get me to drink I told her I said I would like a dry table she said I will get u some napkins to dry it with didnt know I had to dry the table the she proceeded to dry it and they give me all new things when I kept telling her the stuff I had was fine but ok then she ask me again what I would like to drink told her again she gave me my drink then about five minutes later took my order which seemed like forever since it wasnt that much the eggs were ok the bacon wasn't really that good the pancakes were ok she came about five minutes later to ask me how it was I said fine didn't see her after that when I was done went to the counter to pay because I didn't have my receipt because I never saw my waitress after that this other lady had to find my order my waitress then comes over the other lady said that she got it I paid but it looked wrong so I was waiting for someone to come help me but no one did while I am standing there another lady walks in and the lady that helped me pay for my order totally ignored me but as soon as the other lady walked in she catered to her even though I was standing right in front of her but it's whatever I don't think I will be back unless I am very hungry or in the area but the price I paired...
