First visit to this location. I just moved here a week ago and thought I would try it out. I go through the drive through and order the 20 piece fill-up with just thighs and breasts original recipe.I also would like the mashed potatoes without gravy. I was advised it would be a 6 minute wait for original recipe. Would that be ok? I agreed that it would be ok. We pulled ahead and paid for our order. I advised I didn't need a receipt (I receive a mobile alert when my card is used.) After paying for the order, I am asked to pull over to the side and it will be brought to me when it is ready. So, I pull into a parking spot to wait. My Puppy dog is with me and the folks inside smiled and waved at her. So, they knew exactly which car I was. They bring my food out and thank me. I pulled out to head home without checking the bag... (Apparently a huge mistake). I get home and begin unpacking the food. I live 4+ miles outside of town. As I unpack the mashed potatoes, they are covered with gravy (and lots of it.. like extra gravy had been put on them...) I am very upset. I begin attempting to call the store back to see how this can be resolved (I am not going to drive all the way back into town and come back to cold chicken. If they want to fix the entire meal again and pay for my gas money to come back, maybe that is an option...) It took 11 calls to have someone answer the phone. Each unanswered call, I am getting more upset. Finally having the person on the phone that took my order (15 minutes ago), I begin to describe how the order has been messed up. She asks if I have my receipt since I don't want to drive back and get replacement potatoes. I said, "You know good and well that I don't have my actual receipt. I had asked you to keep it." She then starts in that she doesn't remember every customer... etc. etc. Nothing upsets me more than someone not acknowledging their own screw up. But then to lie in the process. I lost my temper. I said, "Don't play stupid. You know exactly who I am. I don't think too many people on the last 15 minutes waited for 6 minutes for the food to be done and had their dog in the car which you acknowledged. This is absolutely unacceptable! This is ludacris." She starts saying that she won't be talked to this way. I said, " of course. Your food wasn't screwed up". I then hung up.
So, this is my first and LAST visit. Things happen. But acknowledge it and try to make it right. When you don't, that is when customers get upset!
I went today for the first time in years to a KFC to try the saucy nuggets combo. It came with ten saucy nuggets (honey garlic), a biscuit, and medium fries/drink.
Why I had to stand around for a minute or so to order, th efood came out within 2 minutes of my order being placed. It was very fast.
In terms of food, the fries were good but a bit lukewarm. The biscuit was flavorful, but a little dry. I ended up getting a honey packet for it. The saucy nuggets were very good. I was surprised by how juicy ad flavorful they were, while still retaining that peppered, fried taste.
The biggest caveat was the price tag being $10 plus tax. While I really enjoyed my food, it is hard to pay $10 for a combo when Taco Bell, McDonald's, and Burger King have similar combos with multiple items and a drink for $5-7.
Was it good? yes. Would I get it again? I haven't...
