I visivis Johnny Seesaw's Restaurant this past weekend for dinner. The ambiance of the restaurant was excellent with a large circular fireplace in the center, exposed beams and authentic decor throughout. That being said the restaurant was very busy and we didn't have reservations but we lucked out and we're able to get a table in the bar area. Upon sitting we found the table dirty and it took several minutes before anyone came over to ask if we'd like drinks, but we still had to ask for menus and to have our table wiped down. Once we finally ordered drinks, apps, and entrees the service got slightly better, however because of how busy it was it did take some time for our food to come out. All of our food was excellent, from the appatizers to the entrees. The prime rib was perfectly cooked as well as the lamb shank. During dinner no one checked on us and it wasn't until I asked another server where our server went did he come back to check on us. Granted the food was excellent, but the level of service we received over shadowed the exceptional meal. I will visit Johnny Seesaw's again and I hope they work out their service issues.
I did go back to Johnny's this winter and sat in the dinning area this time and had slightly better service. Again the food was excellent, but the service was only ok. We had to wait several minutes for drinks, after ordering. When is came to our food our appitisers were brought at the same time as our meals. After finishing our dinner we had to ask to have out plates removed from our table. We also ordered a couple of after dinner drinks, I think a hot toddy and an Irish coffe that was so strong it wasn't drinkable. 10% coffee and 90% Jameson. As much as I like the ambience of the resturant, I'm not sure if I'd go back again based on service that didn't exactly match the bill. I don't mind paying extra for good food but the service needs to...
Read moreI visited Johnny Seesaw's over the weekend with a friend and we were not able to get reservations due to how busy they were but we were told to come in and see if we could find a spot. Luckily, we were able to sit at a bar high top. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, lots to look at, fireplace in the center of the room, great mural on the back wall.. Enjoyable for adults and families alike. The food was great, I had the Onion Soup and it was one of the best that I have had (and I order this out often). My entree was the Lamb Shank, and it was great as well. The sides were excellent as well but I felt there could be a little more. The reason for not giving 5 stars is due to the service. When we first arrived, we grabbed a seat at a high top bar table. After about 10 - 15 minutes of nobody coming over, we weren't sure if we ordered from the bar or not, meanwhile the other high top seemed to be getting full waiter service. We flagged someone down for menus which came a few minutes after, had to ask for the table to be wiped down as it was dirty. Then everything was smooth for the most part, granted the food did take quite a while to arrive (they were very busy..). After eating, we waited for about 20 minutes to received a check with many servers rushing past us as they seemed to be very focused and not looking around much.
All in all, it was an enjoyable experience and great food. We will be back again to visit. I just think they need to get a handle on the service part a...
Read moreReally nice space, very cozy , nice fire place and bar. The food is good not great. The real issue is the service . We were seated at 8:20 for an 8pm reservation. Cocktails came quickly, (appreciated !!) we were all starving and asked for bread , as we didn’t want to drink on empty stomachs .We waited and waited , Then were told they were out of bread ????. please give us something before we all fall over. Our meals didn’t arrive until 9:50. I know this because now this is the only topic of conversation at our table “ when will we get our food . An hour and a half is just crazy . To add insult to injury they forgot one of our party’s entrees , Help!!. we all pitched in and gave her some of ours. after some complaining to the owner Mrs ....... the manager came over to inform us she would comp us one of the meals in a very snarky way , which turned into a very uncomfortable exchange where she told us we didn’t need to come back if we were that dispointed ( really??? ) We saw owners Mr and Mrs on the way out where Mrs told us she would have stoped by the table but she was with other customers ( really ) we are a party of 7 , you screwed up our night out and you want to reafirm how unimportant we are with a statement like that ??? on the other hand Mr owner was very genuine and apologetic- I dine out often through business and I get it , sometimes things go wrong - but untrained managers who get defensive and argue with customers is not...
