Arriero Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Petersburg

This was the most ghetto experience I've ever had while dining in a restaurant, so get this they have on their website and their menu a display of something that looked good I pointed at it and said I wanted the picture on the menu. He said okay I got you and they bring me out this steak quesedilla with no sauce nothing just literally a flour wrap and steak I quickly tell them there must be a misunderstanding and told them what I wanted. I'm not joking they literally said the steak is better than the enchilada and I told him okay but that's not what I ordered so can you please give me what I ordered. We had like two different servers and then one came out and told me do you want me to give you a to go box for that quesidilla. I tell him no I'm not paying for this because it's not what I ordered. THEN WE HAVE THE MANAGER COME TO OUR TABLE AND HE SAIDS STEAK IS BETTER THAN WHAT IS ON THE MENU TAKE A BITE AND IF YOU DONT LIKE IT ILL GIVE MAKE YOU WHAT YOU WANT. Bro talked to me like I was a little kid I wasn't rude or disrespectful but they were talking about us with the other servers and people who came in. I tried the quesedilla and it was one of the nastiest things I have ever eaten no flavor no sauce nothing literally just a bunch of fajita steak. I THEN get a different server and ask him hey I'm not paying for this just please bring me what's on the menu that I said I wanted. This place has to be a cover for something. Everything is off. Food was average, wait time was astronomically TERRIBLE for our food and drinks. Severely overpriced for what we got, but this is the thing that I’ve never ever been through before, When we got there I used the women’s bathroom. There was no soap, so I told a staff member. 45 min later when I went to walk to the bathroom, our server is just sitting with other employees in the waiting area. One was pushing a baby stroller another car seat with a baby was just sitting in the corner unattended. I figured so THATS where they all are. They close at 9 and it was 8 by then. Guess what I didn’t find in the bathroom? Yep still no soap. I’m annoyed because the person I told is just sitting there. I tell my waitress that is also still sitting there there’s still no soap. I ask to use the soap in the men’s room thinking this could work and she says go ahead. Omg! Really !? I said I’m not going in if there’s a man in there I mean come on! She asked someone in Spanish to check the stalls for men. Head slap! Just wow. The soap was empty in there and a watered down dollar store hand soap was on counter. My experience at El Arriero Mexican Restaurant was fantastic! I visited the restaurant for lunch and was delighted by the food and service.

We started with their complimentary chips and salsa, which were a perfect snack to begin our meal. The chips were crispy, and the salsa had a great balance of spice and flavor.

For our main course, we ordered tacos and Mexican chicken soup, and both dishes were excellent.
