Bleigh Street Cafe — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Sad to say my days of coming here are over. I asked over and over again for somebody to give me a call back regarding a racial issue that took place at this restaurant. I never experienced such a disgusting , entitled behavior a man was sitting across from me and my boyfriend, we were both watching stuff in our phone waiting on our food. We paid for stuff that we didn’t even get bc we were rushed out of there by this man saying that he “suggest we get our food Togo unless we want something to happen to us” I asked him to clarify what he meant and he said well you can stay and find out and kept starring at us making us really uncomfortable I notified the bartender and she said it’s normal behavior from him. My boyfriend was the only black man at the bar and they are failing to acknowledge that. This man is a regular there they said and that they won’t be asking him to not come there he will just be able to continue harassing customers. So if you get food from here I suggest not going inside because regardless they will allow him to act like this and instead of telling him that he had to go she was more comfortable with me leaving instead of asking him to go home for the night. The owner NEVER reached out to me personally. Nobody has made this right in anyway. Don’t get me wrong thank you to Chris in the back for always hooking the food up it’s always good but other than that the atmosphere is giving “whites only” because they have a racist at the front telling people that they can’t stay in there and enjoy their time. I reached out 3 times to get a call back and the owner refuses to reach out to me and this happened Sunday. I don’t feel like anything that was said to me was sincere they basically said that he was warning me about a crowd in the back but they weren’t even rowdy. This is ridiculous I had a terrible experience where a man named Tommy that regularly goes there and told me he suggest we take our food Togo. My boyfriend was the only black man in there and he told us we should go somewhere else. I went back tonight to get the burgers they had promised me and the girl at the bar was basically telling me that he never told me that and I was lying. She sat in my face and accused me of lying when the lady who was the bartender that night even heard him saying stuff to us. This establishment is only for white people. they have made that very clear and to have a lady in my face telling me that I was lying about something that actually happened is ridiculous. The smash burgers is okay but not for all of this. I don’t need to lie on an old man I don’t care how many years she served him for. I know what he said to me that night and nothing can justify telling others they need to take the food Togo. Now I wish I can go back to that night and record him. This is why you always gotta have your camera rolling because of Situations like this. My boyfriend was asked to leave because he was black. Ordered through UberEats: This was our first time ordering. I called beforehand and the gentleman answered my questions and was very polite. When the food arrived I was taken aback by the portions and flavor. 1. $8 fries (Uber eats price) were very, very salty. 2. $14 Buffalo chicken egg rolls were greasy but tasty and there were only two cur in half 3. $18 for each Cheesesteak which were smaller than expected but the meat was okay; seeded rolls were not soft.
