Out of Wack Jacks Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Three stars mainly because of the food. I ordered the grilled chicken breast sandwich for $7. My criticisms are based on the portion size of the chicken breast. Some establishments, including this one have gone to flattening and then cutting the chicken breast to a very small portion, barely equal to the size of the roll in diameter, comparable to a standard sized hamburger roll, and filling it with lettuce tomato and onion add-ons. It's a cheap move, trying to get two or three sandwiches out of one split breast. Compared to a Chick-fil-A sandwich which is half the cost, there is no comparison. Chick-fil-A gives you three times the sandwich for half the cost. I would have shared this with the staff had I been asked. But they did not ask me what I thought. Besides that they have an awesome sized bar area with plenty of room for people that like to sit at the bar. I am one of those people. There's a separate dining area large enough to accommodate a modest-sized crowd. The people working were cordial enough. When I visited, there were locals at the bar. A lot of things to like, but if their food offerings are anything like this sandwich was, I won't be back for the food. Which means I probably won't be...

I stopped in yesterday, for a drink with a friend. Im not quite sure what exactly offended the bartender about myself and my friend. Im always very polite and well mannered. So unfortunately im forced to believe, she made us feel so unwelcome because we are black. Because there is no other explanation. There were two bartenders. The blonde woman did provide great and timely service and she was very nice and polite. But there was a dark haired woman her hair was either dark reddish or brown. Her hair was also unkept, which as a service professional myself demonstrates poor hygiene on her behalf. To be around peoples food and drinks like that is worrisome. I am not one to use the race card ever but she was very blatant and brazen. Gave us dirty looks and completely ignored us when we asked her for our check. colored people avoid this place. Hi!!! So recently, I had been searching on door dash for somewhere that had burgers other than the usual places I could try.. I am so picky about burgers and I love a good, cheesy, thick burger! So Jacks had popped up & I decided to try them! As I looked through the menu - I found they had all of my favorite appetizer dishes in a sampler!!!! So I ordered that & Everything was absolutely amazing!!!! The cheesesteak egg rolls are to DIE for, the mozzarella, the pierogies! Then of course I had to also order my cheeseburger.. & like I said I am SOOOOO picky, but this cheeseburger was one of the best I have had in a LONG TIME! Cooked perfectly, juicy, cheesy, and BIG! As I mentioned - I had ordered it as a take out through door dash & they had made sure to put every type of sauce I could need for every item on the sampler in the bag. I have now ordered from them a few times & I am hoping to be able to actually go stop in there to check it out...
