I was expecting so much more from this place. There is always a line out the door every time i ride by but i never had time to stop in. So i made it a point to go there after work one night, i called ahead to place my order so i didnt have to wait in line. I should've known better when i had to call three times before i got an answer but i just figured they were busy. I placed my order with a friendly young lady and was told to be on my way because it would only be about 15 minutes for my food to be prepared. I arrived about 20 minutes later to a line out the door and waited for almost another 20 minutes. Finally when i was one person away from being called next the young lady who took my order asked if anyone was there for pick up and of course i was the only one. She showed me the food before packing it up and i should have just said never mind at that point because it did not look very appetizing but i didnt because i had already waited so long and sometimes looks can be deceiving. I paid almost $20 because i got the mac&cheese which is an extra charge that i wasn't told about over the phone. The platter(i ordered curry shrimp with sweet potatoes and mac&cheese)came with no rice and very bland wet sweet potatoes. The shrimp were small and hard to chew with very little curry flavor. I was so very disappointed with the entire situation and i just dont understand how the food could be so bad with all the people who frequent the restaurant. Long story short i wont be returning or recommending this Quality Taste Jamaican restaurant and its sad for me because i really wanted to have a great place for jamaican food near me. I will stick to RON'S even though its super far from where i live they...
Read moreOh wow...awesome.. I was coming from Wilwood on Sunday and wanted some Jamaican food. I searched google and came upon this restaurant and thought that I would give it a try. Called the number but did not get trhough. I then called the Jerk Hut and asked for the number but the person who answered said she did not know what the number was. I asked her whether the restaurant was next door; she did say it was and I was hoping that she would have then assist me....she did not and told me to google it, which was how I found the restaurant. I tried calling the number again and it rang without a response. We decided to put the address in the GPS and hoped that there was still curried goat and oxtail available. Despite the long line extending onto the sidewalk, we waited and were treated to a delightful meal..God was with us...we got the last serving of oxtails. Taste was up like 7, portions were ample and most of all I got lunch the next day - that's when the taste tun up. I noticed that there were only men in the restaurant - thanks guys; I will surely be back whenever I am back in the neighborhood. PS...post the number in the Jerk Hut for ease of reference. BIG...
Read moreI came here because my nephew wanted Jamaican food. I'm not from the area, but i looked them up on Google and the reviews were good. The place was crowded, but they move pretty quick and they get your order pretty fast too. I got two jerk platters and 3 other ones of something else. While i was there, they ran out of jerk sauce and the guy asked if i wanted it. I said i did and he asked if i could wait to the side and he'd put it on once it was made. 5 minutes later he motions me to get the food. When i get to my destination, and give the food out and i open my jerk, There's no sauce on the jerk. I was disappointed and annoyed. The chicken was very dry and tasteless. I called the next day to complain to the manager and he was actually sorry for what happened and said it was probably an honest mistake. He asked if i could come back to the restaurant and he would give me another platter. Since I'm from out of town, i never made it to the restaurant again, but other than me not having the sauce and not being able to really enjoy their food, there were no other complaints with the rest of the food from the family. They...
