Lucky Chinese & American Food Take Out — Restaurant in Philadelphia

If I could give zero stars for the treatment I experienced today, I would. I came into the store for the female worker to talk with the other workers in the back, while some other guy and I waited for a good 5 minutes for her to realize that we were standing there.

I placed my order, and she told me my balance ($10), for which I gave her the money and then went back to waiting for my food to be finished. (I never pay her upfront every time I go, but I decided today because I just wanted to grab my food and go). Even after that, she continued conversing with the people in the back (again, not paying attention to the new customers in the front waiting for her).

Once my order was ready, she told me the balance again, which confused me because I already paid for it. Once I said, "I already paid you," she suddenly got hostile and said I never paid. Unfortunately, she would have remembered that I had given her the money if she weren't busy focusing on the workers in the back and not paying attention to the customers in her face. I had to pay AGAIN, which is ridiculous. As a frequent customer, I was shocked at her disgusting behavior because I was one of the only people to treat her respectfully. Just called in a take-out order of general Taos chicken with a substitute of mixed vegetables. The lady on the phone proceeded to yell at me insisting I choose white or fried rice. I didn’t want rice so I decided to get a substitute of vegetables and she decided to huff and puff on the phone and was overall very rude. I could barely understand what she was saying through all her screaming and attitude but I tried to explain that she could make the vegetables with the chicken/sauce since she couldn’t figure out my very simple request on her own. And the substitutes are included on their menu so I’m not sure why it was a big deal. I’ve come to this restaurant many times and I’m very disappointed about how I was treated today since I’ve been nothing but kind and supportive thus far. And when she called me back to let me know my order was ready I told her I no longer wanted the food since she was so rude to me and she promptly hung up the phone while I was still talking. I’m sorry you’re having a bad day but that’s not my problem and I will not be coming back. Anyway I’ll be supporting the Jamaican restaurant up the street...

Called to order some late night food for myself and my lady and the woman who answered barely speaks English outside the menu, time, and letting me know they don't deliver. She called back to ask where I was multiple times as I was on my way to pick up the food. Only to get there alongside another group of hungry young people who were informed they only take cash. So I walked from my apartment at midnight in 24 degree weather to get food because they don't deliver to be informed they also don't take card and the nearest ATM is 4 long blocks away. She informed us of this in Mandarin as well because she nor her cook knew any English outside of "CASH ONLY!" and basic menu items.

Needless to say I swiftly left with a groan and a grumbling stomach to order from Uber eats like I should have done. Shame on me for not adapting...
