Had to duck in here because of sudden downpour. So glad we did. The food was awesome. We both ate for under $30 and we took food home. We loved it and will be back!

And, it must not be just us. This place was hopping!!! There was a constant flow of people picking up orders! For what looks like a small sandwich shop, they're putting out a large amount of food and every comment I heard was positive!

While we waited for our food, we split a dessert. They have a nice selection of cakes. We had the strawberry shortcake, not normally our first choice but the cream looked appealing. It was so good! That cream was unexpectedly delicious! We'd get that again in a heartbeat but, now, we're intrigued to try some of the other options.

We had onion rings and tater tots to start. Both were piping hot and delicious. Some of the best tots we've had anywhere. I know it sounds like a silly thing to remark on but if you're a tot lover, you know what I mean.

We had the Pork Italiano and Pork Dutchie and, as we're used to an old South Philly haunt's way of doing pork sandwiches with the bread "wet" (with juice), we asked for some au jus. They. Were. DELICIOUS!! I liked my sandwich so much, I ordered another one to take home for the next day (unfortunately, we don't live close enough just to get one the next day).

Only thing to note is, if you're used to a real Philly style sandwich on a "tougher" roll, like an Amoroso roll or even a South Philly roll, you're not going to get that here. They bake their own signature soft baguette rolls in house. They are very soft and good, but not what I was expecting from a Philly sandwich shop. I, personally, would have preferred a tougher roll but I didn't hate their baguette. It was tasty and held up to the au jus. Despite my preference, it made for a good sandwich!

I would suggest to the owners to put the au jus on the menu as an option. It's obviously not something they are asked for often and it took their sandwich from awesome to PHENOMENAL!

I took away one star in the atmosphere rating not because of the set up or seating or anything like that. That was fine. The problem is that the TV was playing so loudly that it made conversation difficult. My guess was that it was loud enough so the guys in the kitchen could hear the game so I didn't say anything. Those guys were hustling and if the game was loud for them, I didn't want to disturb their enjoyment. But, from a patron perspective, it was definitely too loud.

All in all, we really loved it and can't wait to try some of...

I am a constant consumer of the mayfair and holme location. Most of the time I usually pick up my orders from the location, grub hub is a option as well. Today march the 24, I ordered 1 chicken cheesesteak with extra meat, 1 beef cheese steak with extra meat, and a large cheese frie, today there was a special deal pertaining to a free 8pc boneless chicken wings with a order of 20 dollars or more. I placed the order on the night of march 24th, 2018 and arrived at the mayfair location to pay and grab my order. while settling at home my roommate noticed our order was incorrect and mistaken. "The chicken cheese steak was somehow a regular beef cheese steak " and both steaks that we received had NO EXTRA MEAT. Once I reviewed the order and checked out the merchandise I call the mayfair location back and spoke with a cashier and came to the conclusion that I deserved to wait for a delivery driver to bring me the correct order a take the incorrect steak. During the conversation I received NO verbal apology and instead I waited patiently while my other merchandised began to sit and get cold and tough. I thought I was a well valued customer at this location and tonight you proved me wrong. I will no longer patronize this chain of restaurants anymore. And a pastor of the Northeast community I deem this customer service as below satisfactory and will be writing a google and grub hub review. I will also be petitioning my fellow staff and friends to do the same.

We ordered 2 cheese steaks, kids nuggets meal, garden salad, tuna salad and sodas. Was told 40 minutes for delivery. A hr and some passed. Called to see what was going on. Was told it was out for delivery. 1hr and 40mins later our food arrived. Now we all know how gross cold fried food is. All the hot food was cold. The fries and nuggets were hard and cold. Not slightly warm or slightly cold. It was straight cold. The ch steaks cold. Now no way to even fix the kids food. Try heat up hard fries and nuggets just going get dried out food. So we never complain but this was horrible. So my husband called to let them know how cold everything was and the kid platter wasn’t even eatable. Instead of them responding with ok I’m sorry about that she responded “well I don’t know what to tell you. It’s a new driver”. We live 5 minutes away by the way. It just got worse from that point on. Horrible customer service worst $50 spent. They escalated the situation. If they were nice and tried to be apologetic he would of just hung up and excepted the loss.
