The worst hospital I’ve had the misfortune to be at. Over the years, my great-grandmother was taken here a few times. Every single time, I have encountered nothing but negligence, fake pleasantness, and a complete lack of sanitary practice. Attached is an image of a syringe and random debris just lying on the ground at the ER. Their idea of sanitation is briefly washing the floors with a chlorine solution. I’ve not seen anything besides that. For the pregnant and those with open wounds, this is a breeding ground for staph infections. In terms of the care by the nurses, I do not think I have had a single positive experience with the staff. The first time my great-grandmother was admitted, despite me reminding the staff numerous times that she is a diabetic, she was repeatedly fed Jello with a sugar content of over 30g per serving. Although she was placed on a “glucose scale”, her blood sugar level was in the 200’s, absurdly high for her. She wasn’t given her meds regularly either. Our family had to hound the staff, who always replied politely and with a smile, but without any substance about her condition or any understanding. The current treatment at the ER has been just appalling. After 14 hours in the ER, we have yet to hear about her condition from a proper doctor, and she has not eaten for nearly 17 hours. For a 91-year old with diabetes and hypertension, this is absurd. While it is important not to nag on staff, a request to regulate her abnormally high blood pressure with her prescribed meds should be answered within hours, not days. I have multiple explanations for the level of care received over the years, from understaffing, to ultimately the religious charter of the hospital (TAKE YOUR RELATIVES TO SECULAR HOSPITALS), but what’s important is that nothing has changed. The quality of care has always been an issue, and I see no change for the better.

I've been a revisiting patient for nearly 30 years. Every experience prior to June 6th, 2025 has been exceptional. Even ones that I waited in the waiting area for hours to be seen was more acceptable than this past visit. The purpose for my visit was a usual visit I've been to the exact ER both prior to and since I recieved a proper diagnosis. After 15 years of struggling with a chronic pain condition (fibromyalgia) that causes stabbing pain in my chest cavity, under my shoulder blade, neck, upper, middle and lower back, sciatic nerve, hips, buttocks, legs and arms, affects my nervous, muscular and skeletal system. It flares up from time to time and needs to be treated with aggressive pain relief treatment, anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxers. I also have been diagnosed with bipolar 1 disorder, anxiety, as well as PTSD. This is all in my records at Nazareth hence one of the main reasons I insist on going to the same hospital.I've been a revisiting patient for nearly 30 years. Antiquated, overly restrictive COVID-19 visitation policies!!!!!!! My vaccinated father developed severe COVID pneumonia and was gravely ill, confused and sentenced to medical solitary confinement for 14 days at this hospital: THIS IS HOW THEY HANDLE HUMANS WITH COVID-19. Visitor restriction policies do not allow for ANY visitors to sit bedside (I should specify that you can visit for 15 minutes--one time--only when you are withdrawing care and your family is dying). Despite formal guidance released from local health departments and CDC guidance regarding COVID-19 visitation in acute care settings, despite the consideration that local hospitals have adopted less restrictive visitation policies, despite attempting to contact administrators and pleading, this man was secluded and short of breath, alone and confused for 2 weeks in this hospital. In fact, his personal phone stopped working and the hospital-issued phone did not work for many days, leaving me with no other choice than to spend my days and nights calling a main number that was often busy to then get transferred to a nurse's station line that was often unanswered to ultimately sit and wait for nurses to call me back and give me some form of "proof of life". Often, it was hours, even 12-hour shifts before I would get an update from an already overworked health care team member. This is not the way. This is not acceptable. Use your resources to make better policies to allow less restrictive visitation policies for COVID-19 patients. These already overworked nurses should not have to deal with constant, unnecessary turbulence such as dealing with family phone calls and updates ------JUST LET PEOPLE VISIT THEIR ILL FAMILY MEMBERS!!!! This is not ethical. This is inhumane!!! We did not know dad had Covid upon admission or we would have chosen a different hospital that would not have secluded and isolated our ill family member for weeks. Administration CEO, COO, and CNO----WHY ARE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESSES AND CONTACT INFO NOT AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC!!!???? Where is the transparency??? Website does not even list their names!!! AND, Whenever I called ANY person there and was able to actually connect and make contact----NOT ONE PERSON could or would allow me to speak with an administrator. DO BETTER!!! Please visit PENN Presbyterian to view what a COVID-19 visitor policy should look like in October 2021. Why haven't you updated your policy to reflect current CDC and state guidance for HUMANS hospitalized with COVID 19---they should have more rights than prisoners!!!!! The mental health fallout from these types of restrictions will...

Edit 01/18/24: Received a bill in the mail today for the medicine I paid for when being discharged. Pharmacy brought it to my room and I paid on cash so I'm sure that was pocketed and why it's on their system I didn't pay. Just keeps getting worse.

If you want the worst experience then this is the place to go. I'd give negative stars if I could. My first visit here to the ER (6 1/2 hour wait not one person called in that time) I was being treated for gerd since I told them a year ago a hospital said I MAY have gerd due to my symptoms but was never officially diagnosed. I asked could it be my gallbladder so that is what made them check my gallbladder. Doctor said I have stones but it is not inflamed/infected so he doesn't think that is what's causing my pain and sent me home with a prescription for pepcid (medication for gerd). Not even 24 hours I was back in sever pain, sweating, throwing up and damn near passing out and again treated for gerd. Treated horrible by the ER staff except the one nurse I can't remember her name I want to say Carissa. I am not sure what made them flip but a surgeon came in and decided I needed to have my gallbladder removed. After my surgery my surgeon told me my gallbladder was really inflamed/infected which is odd since it apparently wasn't according to the doctor the night before. I had one fantastic nurse since I've been admitted and moved to a room (Gina) after that I have been treated like a piece of trash. I try to treat people as kindly as I can since that is how I want to be treated. Always thanking them for all of their help etc but my second nurse on the 5th floor (Adaline) decided she didn't like me then proceeded to talk poorly of me to the next shift to which a coworker of hers told me. She seemed like she didn't want to actually do her job and is just here for a paycheck. It was on my chart I could have morphine every THREE hours as needed but after Gina I was given just Tylenol even though I was telling them I was in pain and they'd give it to me every 6 hours. I spent the night crying with hardly any sleep at all. Not because of the pain but because of how I was being treated. So after Adaline I made it a point not to call the nurses station for my nurse and just waited for her to show up and check on me. It's a shame when you feel like you can't get help from the people that that is exactly what they are here/trained to do. Also Sat here for 2 days with the soiled linen bag full of soiled linens which made the room smell. I usually never go here and I can't believe I did this time, never again. There is so much more I could say but you...

Please save your life and do not go here One of the worst hospitals in the city and also They do not give you romantication on time Even after asking three times They come about three hours late After asking for meditation Whenever you call the nurse for anything it takes them a hr or longer to do anything Some are very rude also There are no doctors there at night so To change medication or anything you have to wait till the next morning Which is ridiculous what hospital doesn't have any doctors during the night time Only students at night 1st and 2nd year With no experience Even the nurse Could not do my e k g the right way they had to get the headnurse And was yelling at her because she was putting all of the leads in the wrong place and just puttimg them anywhere Spot check off I could not get my pain medication when I was in excruciating pain because she did not take my e k g correctly They did a stomach scan while I was throwing up before giving me medication Then said it wasn't clear and did not do another one the worst hospital i've ever been to I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis by 2 other hospitals and Specialist Even though all of that is own file and I get medication for it I had a really bad flare up was throwing up blood The doctor did not even look app the blood with throw up when the nurse said to keep it for him to see The first day I felt a little bit better after being there for 5 days still not eating anything and still Dry heaving They sent me home and were trying to send me home before that After I got home I got very sick again and new symptoms Add to go to another hospital to get the right treatment also Was drop by ambulance because I could not walk I was in so much pain They took me to the waiting room Emergency room Set there for 2 hrs Throwing up and drooling with snap coming from my nose Because I was so dehydrated and weak Nobody offered any help and when I got called back I was three feet from the door in a wheelchair and the nurse said can you walk or do I have to get somebody to push you in you literally cannot walk three feet to push me in yourself Ridiculous hospital Very rude very short with you And they can care less about how you feel or what's wrong with you Only reason I went there is because the mergency room by my house was temporarily closed because of a shooting If I had known I would have just stayed home another day in pain Would have been better than going there and being put...
