Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in Phoenix

Personally a fan of DQ, but this location is disappointing.

Why any location doesn't have chocolate ice cream is beyond me, but that's a big turn off. Any store that doesn't offer chocolate ice cream should warn people.

Advertisements all over the walls for products they no longer make/carry. Old blizzards, flavors of ice cream cakes that aren't actually offered, etc.

No actual grill. Hot dogs are the only "food offered". They do call it a "treat" store, but why not just make it a grill anyway?

No drive through. Not the worst, but still pushes them in the wrong direction. Especially since they don't even sell food. Why have a walk in/sit down only location when you can't even get food to sit down and eat? Ice cream is a good drive through product.

They advertise use of the app for rewards and promotions, but they have no scanner, and the cashier had no idea how to help me use it to get my points any other way. I understand not all locations offer use of the app, but if you have a picture of the app AT your cash register, you should be able to scan, and your employees should know how to use it.

Seems like a waste of a DQ store to me with the limited options, but I guess some people like the simplicity. The store at least seemed pretty clean, but there's no dine in right now, so you can't...

We ordered doordash because we weren't feeling well and the manager forgot to put our food in the bag so we called back and she said there's nothing she can do about it unless we order something else have it delivered. She will put the missing item in the bag for us. No, how about you? Just get the food that we already paid for delivered to us. When we asked for a higher up person she said I can have them call you and that they had just left the location and that's why she forgot the food because she was distracted but yet no one has called us back. Horrible service. We just ended up ordering food from somewhere else for our kids.

Update We decided to give this dairy Queen another chance and lo and behold. The service was just as bad. We ordered three blizzards. My s'mores blizzard was a large. I ordered extra brownie pieces. Not only did they forget all brownie pieces. The entire bottom half was just vanilla ice cream, not a single topping. My wife's strawberry cheesecake had no strawberries in it at all. And then my son's blizzard. Also the whole bottom half was strictly ice cream. Are you guys really getting that cheap? I thought giving you another chance was pretty cool of me but once again...

When at 10pm on Sunday the 6/15/2025; absolutely the filthiest store I've been in. Even the employees (2 males) were dirty; dirty hands, greasy, long hair, clothes with dirt and grime on them. And the state of the service area was gross! The floors were covered in a gray sticky film (you could hear their feet sticking to it as they walked). Ice cream running down the front of the machine and several areas with caked, dried ice cream. The toppings had open lids and toppings running down the front and across the counter space. The employees were handing money and cards and not washing their hands or wearing gloves. I called corporate to report it and they said they would forward to the owner (so I could show them the pics) and I never heard a word back from anyone.
