Before I begin, let me not waste anyone’s time: this is not a vegan place. Proceed accordingly! Head chef and owner Jenna L. is apparently a Cordon-Bleu trained pastry chef, and that hard work is on full display here. With only one exception, everything I tried was my new favorite. You really can’t go wrong here. I got the apple chai, croissant, pain au chocolate, glazed croissant, mango and raspberry cake, pumpkin pie, and the peanut butter brownie. The croissants are to die for! I took one home to my husband who has visited France, and he said it reminded him of his time there. The excellent product is reflected in the quality ingredients. If I allow myself to eat them every day, I’ll gain fifty pounds, and still be glad of it. Worth it! The pumpkin pie was divine. I could eat twenty. The individual pies have an excellent balance of buttered crust to pie filling (coming from a crust lover, so bear that in mind—although I think non-crust lovers would also appreciate it because the crust isn’t dry at all). The filling was rich and flavorful. The creamy topping lightened and lifted the flavors so well! I find that canned pumpkin pie makes for a hint of sourness, for lack of a better word, but not the kind you might enjoy. There’s none of that here. It tastes so good! I needed a plastic knife to cut into the mango raspberry cake, so I was initially worried—until I took a bite. That alleviated my worries immediately. The harder part was almost crunchy and it balanced well with the softer and creamier portions of the cake. The flavor was tart, light and refreshing! I could also call this divine, and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t usually go for fruits in desserts. I most often go for the vanillas, chocolates, and coffee-flavored cakes! But I’ll happily return to this any time. The mango raspberry cake was also gorgeous to look at. Its icing was rich and smooth. Even the coconut shreds on the sides added to the flavor. The peanut butter brownie was the only item I wouldn’t get again. I like when a brownie comes out a little fluffier or even more ā€œcakey,ā€ and this one came out heavier and ā€œfudgey,ā€ if that makes sense. There’s nothing wrong with it—that’s just my personal preference. The flavor is still really nice! The texture is just not for me. There’s a lovely piece of chocolate covering the brownie, and that’s an excellent choice. If you love fudge, I think you might enjoy the peanut butter brownie better than I did! The seasonal drink, the apple chai, was so good! There are no ā€œhintsā€ of apple to it. We don’t have time for hints! It’s full on APPLE chai! Emphasis on the apple! There’s no confusion about what kind of drink it is. I got mine hot, and the temperature was perfect for me. Bear in mind, I find most hot drinks made at places like Starbucks to be too hot. If you like your drinks scalding, you might want it hotter, but honestly, why? Are you trying to boil your taste buds off? Don’t you want to savor the flavors of the drink? I will be returning any chance I get. I hope the location expands its parking soon, because that’s the only issue in visiting this place.

I kept hearing about this place, so I finally gave in. I usually stay away from pastries since I burn through calories like a furnace, but I figured, ā€œyou only live once,ā€ right? Easily the best decision I’ve made all week. The staff was incredible, friendly, patient, and clearly used to dealing with indecisive people staring at the pastry case like it’s the Mona Lisa. We grabbed three things to split and honestly, they should all have their own fan clubs. The coffee truffle was rich and creamy, the perfect ā€œI have my life togetherā€ dessert. The Kouign Amann? Holy perfection. Crispy outside, soft center, buttery heaven that deserves its own zip code. Then the pistachio croissant lightly sweet, perfectly baked, and filled with a chocolate pistachio mix that made me question if I’ve ever truly lived before this moment. Nothing here is a sugar bomb, so if your taste buds are trained on Starbucks, Dunkin, or Supermarket level sweetness, brace yourself for flavor that actually tastes like craftsmanship. It’s classy, it’s delicious, and it’ll ruin every grocery store pastry for you forever. If you haven’t been yet, fix that immediately.

Absolutely adore JL Patisserie. We typically go once or twice a week over the last four years. I love the creativity of the weekend pastries and we love that this is as close to Europe(home) we will ever get living in AZ. Just a note because I feel confused or there may be confusion with new staff. Last weekend the special was a salmon danish. However, on the regular sandwich menu there is the Lox Croissant. My husband has gotten it from the phx location as well as the toast. I understand that each location is a tad different in options. The girl told us that was the special for last weekend. I said I’m not sure that’s correct as typically specials aren’t printed on the menu that are at the registers and that what was available last weekend definitely is not the same as a lox croissant. I would love to know what the real story is so figure out if we should go back to the phx as our main store.

I'm a regular here—at least 3x a week—and I try something new almost every time. Honestly, I'm obsessed. The design here is minimalist, spacious, and flooded with natural light. They don't need a lot of clutter because their pastries are the art! Everything is beautifully displayed against a clean backdrop, making the tarts and croissants truly shine. It feels more like an elegant Parisian cafe than a local bakery. It's gorgeous and welcoming—the perfect spot to actually sit down and enjoy your coffee.

You have to try the Egg Salad. It's not just basic egg salad, it has a secret hint of dill pickle that takes it to another level. (The Chicken Salad is good too, just sweeter, so I stick with my dill-y fave!)

For a sweet treat, the Fruit Tart is perfect. The crust is just right, and they top it with the freshest fruit and a beautiful puree. It looks and tastes like a piece of art. šŸŽØ

Their coffee beans are incredible too. I'm no expert, but you can taste how rich and high-quality they are in every sip. Plus, they clearly label the ingredients on everything, which is so helpful.

Need a snack pick-me-up? The PB Energy Bites are LITERALLY perfect. They're so yummy and satisfying.

Last thing: The staff here is incredibly sweet and helpful. They remember faces and they’re happy to answer any questions about the menu or the ingredients. World-class pastries served by world-class people—it's the perfect combination! This place is a 10/10. Go...

for the cinnamon roll, spinach artichoke danish, 24 oz caramel latte, and 16 oz vanilla latte, it was about $31.00. the pricy part is the pastries. to me, they are high quality, creative, and require a lot of work, so i don't mind the price. if you're an average person, this place is good for special mornings when you want a fancy pastry, coffee, and vibes. they are only open till 2, and they run out of many of the cool pastries by the end of the day, so it's best to get there early. the customer service is amazing. very attentive and nice workers. the inside is spacious and clean. plenty of parking (not too crazy) and right next to the airport, so you can watch all of the airplanes taking off if you enjoy that. lots of outdoor + indoor seating. it was honestly a bit loud inside, so hearing the person you're sitting across from is a little difficult when it's busy. the cinnamon roll is pretty good, but it's not a typical cinnamon roll. it's made out of croissant dough it seems, and is much drier. it's still tasty, but crunchier than you'd expect from a cinnamon roll. the spinach artichoke danish was immaculate. just soo tasty. very crunchy. their lattes are less sweet than from somewhere like dutch bros, especially when you eat them side-by-side with a sweet pastry. that makes them taste a bit bitter due to the difference in sweetness. it's a good counterbalance. i personally wouldn't get a coffee on its own because i...
